I stepped out of the car and felt like safe. It's weird to say that at a house full of strangers.
"Let's do this bitch."
I smiled as we walked in. The song 'DJ got us fallin in love again' by Usher was playing. I ran and grabbed a beer and made my way over to the dance floor. Amber joined me after she got a beer. We both sang the lyrics and dance like crazy people. I felt arms wrap around me. By now the beer was kicking in and I was crazy. I started grinding on this guy. Soon my beer was gone so I stumbled away and went to get another one. As soon as I got it, I sat down. Drew walked up to me and eyed me up.
"What?" I asked taking a drink.
"You look hot."
"I'm not drunk enough for this." I commented taking another drink.
"Your funny." He laughed.
"I try." I mumbled downing the entire bottle. Soon after I held a bottle of straight vodka.
"Trying to black out?" He asked.
"Nope. Trying to drink my sorrows away."
"What happened?"
"I don't wanna talk about it." I mumbled as memories flashed in my head.
"You can trust me."
"I can't trust anyone." I said downing the rest of the bottle. I sat there a minute and let the drink take it's course. Suddenly I felt the overwhelming urge to tell Drew everything. I couldn't do that though.
"I have to go." I told Drew as I stumbled to the door.
"Wait." Drew said getting lost in the crowd. I waited until I got outside to let a tear roll down my face. I wrapped my arms around myself and headed to her grave. I knew exactly were it was. She was buried here. That's why I moved here. I shuffled faster trying to get there before I burst into tears. Then I saw it. Angel Grace. My twin. I sat beside her grave and cried.
"I miss you." I whispered. "There is so much I want to tell you." Then I went into detail about everything that had happened since my last visit.DREW PARKER
I followed her as she made her way down the street. I don't know what I was doing. I just wanted to make sure Hazel stayed safe. I don't know why but I felt a yearning to protect her. When she reached the grave yard I was confused. Suddenly she plopped down by a grave. The tombstone read: Angel Grace, Loving twin, daughter and best friend. 'There is nothing you can't do. I love you, Hazel Grace.' That was all it said. The quote was something she as said.
"I miss you." She whispered. "There is so much I want to tell you. There is this guy. Sparks fly when we touch. He stole my fucking cigarette!" She was talking about me. "I mean who does that. I know what you would say, 'Smoking kill. I can't have my twin dying on me. What if I need a kidney?'" She laughed a little. "I'm sorry I don't come by more often. It's hard." She frowned at the ground. "I run track. I know that was your dream so I thought I would do that for you. Why did you ever want to do that? It's so hard!" She spread out across the grass and stared at the stars. "How did you leave in peace? I saw you after, ya know, and all I thought was how could she leave me like this? How did she feel no regret? Now I know. You belong in heaven." She got up and bent over kissing the tombstone. I know this is a rational moment but man her ass looked fine. What? I'm a guy!
"Bye sis." She smiled a very small smile and headed towards me. I ran back a little and ran up to her looking as if I was out of breath.
"Oh my gosh. Are you ok?"
"I'm fine. Can you take me home?" She asked quietly.
"Sure where do you live?" I asked quietly wrapping my jacket around her shoulders.
"492 Anderson street." She said. I lived right beside her.
"Ok neighbor." She looked confused. "I live in 493 Anderson street." Anderson street was the mansion part if town. She nodded and we walked in silence to my bike.
