A/N: Hello! Thanks for readin' this book! I hope you like it, I worked reeeeeeaaaaaalllllly hard on it!
I am Tessellation Camelio, Tesse for short. Each day I live starts with that sentence. Each step I take; Each promise I make starts with that. I am Tesse Camelio. It's who I am.
I am the girl sitting alone during lunch. I am the one person who writes with their left hand instead of their right. I am the one who sits out at P.E. I am the girl who can't talk in front of people. I am the girl who dances and plays music, alone. I have a little brother whom I love more than anything else. I am named after a tessellation. I am Tesse Camelio.
Today was a Friday. Most would say it was the most glorious day of the week. It's really not. Friday reminds me that another week has ended, another week of my life gone. Pretty deep thoughts, alright, but they are important ones. It's important to realize that all humans and living creatures are on crunch time. Only a matter of days before we hit the bucket.
Forgive me for being so grim, it's hard not to be when there is so much to be grim about.
So the usual happened. I got out of bed, ate breakfast, and got ready. I said goodbye to my parents and left for school.
It was a cloudless day today. A little chilly, but according to me there is nothing better than a cold, cloudless day. While walking to school, I just like to look at my surroundings. Survey the cars driving past the speed limit, observe the birds chirping as if they haven't a care in the world, studying the nameless faces of those around me, this is who I am.
School wasn't that far away, I made it there in about five minutes. The usual happened at school, as well.
After school, I thought of a point that my elective teacher pointed out. We were doing riddles. I was rather bad at them, so I became the riddle maker. After class, my teacher talked to me about it.
"You know, when solving riddles, it helps to think like the riddle-maker. Because the one who created them most likely came up with an answer relating to them. Change your point of view, Tesse. A friend once told me, 'Seeing the same way impacts the way you truly see.' Take these words to heart, carry them through your battle. They will help you truly."
That one teacher has told me many things like, "Never underestimate the dynamics of life." "If you cannot listen then speak." "Pain is proof that you're alive."
I walked home and I did my homework. I couldn't stop thinking about what my teacher said though. The highlight of my day was playing with my brother, Euclidean. Euclidean was taller than me but I still thought of him as my little brother. But I couldn't help feeling bored. Life was the same every day, every hour, and every minute. Nothing ever happened. I usually wished for something exciting to happen. But nothing ever did.
So I decided to change the way I saw the world. But I didn't know how hard it would be to change the way I saw the world. And I also didn't know that if I changed my view I would be the only person able to save the world.
And still I thought of what my teacher told me, "'Seeing the same way impacts the way you truly see.'" I wish I could meet my teacher's friend. He would probably be an extraordinary person.
Soon enough it was night. The light disappeared almost as quickly as it had come, which wasn't much of a difference. The dark blue that came with night blanketed the sky that I get so used to seeing. The stars looked like flicks of silver paint although some were gold. And so the night continued.
There was nothing different about this night. Nothing separated them, they were identical. I didn't know why I was so enchanted by this night sky rather than others. Maybe because I am changing the way I think of the world... some deep part of me thought.
I could hear the crickets chirping, loud against the silence of sleep. I thought I could almost hear the city but it appeared to be asleep as well.
Although I didn't want to admit it, there was something different about this strangely, enchanting night. And so I waited. I waited for something to happen. I waited for night to end. And I waited for dawn to come. And so I closed my eyes and rested them, for only a few minutes.

When nothing happened, I sighed, "Maybe this night is just like all of the others." I was wrong to say this, but it was a human mistake and most human mistakes happen before realizing what really happened.
I took one last look at the night and that was when I noticed the moon was missing. The moon was gone leaving a gaping absence where it used to be.
Where could the moon have gone? I wondered to myself. Was it always missing? Did I really just notice it gone because I changed the way I thought about the world? Did I really change my point of view?
It shouldn't have been able to move, at least not on its own. But where was the moon now?
I couldn't help but ponder about this. And soon my curiosity turned into wonder.
Who stole the moon? Where would they put the moon? How did they move the moon?
Why would anyone want to steal the moon?
I shoved these questions out of my head, and started to gather my things before I realized what I was doing.
"Tesse?" An innocent voice said down the hallway. Euclidean! I thought in panic. What do I do?
"Where are you going, Tesse?"
"Euclidean, if I told you, you would think I'm crazy."
"Then tell me."
"Well.... alright. The moon is missing, Euclidean, it's gone. Someone has stolen it."
"I know, I've known for a long time."
I opened my mouth and closed it, "Wha- what?"
"You heard me right, I know the moon has been stolen."
"Do you know anyone who can help us?"
"I do."
"Who is he?"
"Well, let's just call him the man that lived on the moon."
"How long have you known him?"
"I've known him for a long time, he told me to help you discover the moon is missing. He really wants to meet you."
Who is this man, this person, this being, that lived on the moon?
