Grumbling, Javier woke to the sound of someone entering the room. First he thought it was Zeva. It made him moan at the loss, vexation climbing back in. Only it was the other girl. She resembled Zeva sure enough but their eyes were different.
"Morning. Breakfast and refreshments are here." She placed a tray at the side table. There was also a bowl of clean water and toothpaste and toothbrush.
"Hello? Hands are tied." He shook his hands in their bounds. She didn't reply and went to his feet where she proceeded to take one leg each and quickly before he could comprehend what was happening, they were tied together and latched with manacles to the end of the bed post.
"What-"
He blinked up and she was right in front of him, cutting through the binds of his hands. Fuck, she was fast. When it was released, he massaged his swollen wrists and they ached tremendously.
"Holler if you need anything else." She backed away.
He scoffed, rubbing his hands. "How about my freedom?"
When Javier glanced back up at her, she had a look akin to pity but keeps quiet.
He asks, "What's your name?"
"Selena."
"How do you know the bitch?" He picked up the tray and drank down the full glass of pomegranate juice.
"She is my sister." She said, shrugging.
Taking the fork, he scarfed down the plate of scrambled eggs and munching on the toasts that lathered with melted garlic butter. "You are good with knots. A sailor?"
Her eyes alarmed bright and nodded. "Done some ship rigging before. Nothing much."
He nodded as he ate the plate of cut up fruits-kiwi, strawberries, grapes and berries. "Nice meal. Great place too, now can you get me out of here? I can pay you well."
At that, Selena's eyes narrowed. "I am loyal to my sister. She is doing this for her own reasons."
"Are you really agreeing to her mad plan of me being hitched to your wacko sister and getting her pregnant to get back at man who doesn't care about her? Sounds like a bad movie." He took the jar, pouring more juice into the glass.
Selena stood by the door, hearing the plan coming from him. It did sound ludicrous. She left Javier behind to his own device and went to search for her sister. Maybe there was still time. To rectify this horrible mistake. Kidnapping a young man who had done nothing wrong...it was unthinkable.
Finding her in the kitchen, Zeva had worn simple boyfriend jeans and a plaid red and black shirt. Seeing her this way made her heart swell for her sister. She was a good person who has been wronged, Selena knew this but it doesn't mean she had to go out of her way to get her insipid revenge. She was sipping on a mug coffee when Selena let out words, "Release him. Salvage what you have left. He might not charge you."
Instead of scowling, Zeva's eyes held no emotion. "You have been talking to him?" She tsked, "The weasel knows a way to put ideas in one's head."
"It's not because of him! I'm worried about you! Why can't you see the hole you are digging around yourself? You are so blind with rage that you can't see anything pass it. Zeva, there is still time to correct this." She said, seriously.
Placing the nearly empty cup on the counter, Zeva crossed her hands over her clenching chest. "If you can't accept this, then maybe you should leave."
Selena's mouth gaped open. "What did you say? Surely you can't mean that. Zeva, you aren't thinking straight. Listen to me! Please."
