After dressing, Zeva came to an empty bedroom. She saw a scribbled note, addressing her to come down for dinner. Oh lord! She wasn't ready yet to come down for a face to face with Gander just yet. To wait this out would do her no good. Only way out was to go for the fucking dinner. This was a long time coming as she launched herself to head downstairs. Taking the stairs at a time, slow as possible to avoid the inevitable. She had so many things to say or so she thought when in the back corner of her mind, she wondered where Javier was. What must he think of her? She didn't know what to think of him. Reaching downstairs, she walked to the dinning room seeing both men at their seats. They looked up when she entered the room.
"Join us, Zeva!" Gander gestured to the seat next to him but Zeva didn't comply him because her attention zeroed on to Javier who stared down at her, watching her very closely. Awkward didn't even begin to describe the atmosphere as she took the seat opposite to Gander but beside Javier. However, she felt Javier relax beside her.
There was much food on the table and Gander poured her wine which she noticed was her favorite. Zeva raised her eyebrow as she inspected the wine. "Didn't know you kept this stuff?"
Gander washed a hand over his hair, "I always have it, just in case..."
He left it in blank. Classic Gander move. Zeva snickered, "I see you haven't changed a bit."
"You know me, I-"
"Actually she doesn't. Remember dad? You dumped her for a younger bitch." Javier's comment rippled the silence into tenfold. Zeva sipped the wine. Trying not to let the sting of humiliation crawl over her. Gander coughed uncomfortably. Pressing the napkin to his face, he changed the topic. "So, how have you been, son?"
"Been fucking splendid, dad. Met the love of my life right here." This time Zeva coughed, almost inhaling the wine. What? Javier pat her back so affectionately that it almost had her convinced of the show he is putting on for his dad. She knew what he was trying to do. Playing with the man's pride, making him hurt. The silly game of ego between men.
Gander narrowed his eyes, watching them both. "Really? Love of your life, eh?"
Javier wrapped his arm over her shoulder, jerking her to his side so he kiss her straight onto her lips. A sharp kind of shiver zinged its way to her pussy. He was claiming her right in front of his dad. She was seriously twisted to fucking like that. Cause no one ever showed her off like this. Not even Gander. "Isn't that right, my love? We are mad in love, can't keep the hands off each other!"
Javier felt his chest swell when she blushed, looking down at her plate. What if it wasn't an act? He couldn't help but wonder. Only his dad could ruin the moment by opening his mouth. "Love comes and goes, boy. Take it from us, eh Zeva?"
"Oh I wouldn't know. Been in love only once." She replied as she cut the beans on her plate, bringing it to her mouth to chew. "What's new with you, Gander? Seeing anyone?"
He paused before answering. "There is been a few people, but nothing too serious."
"Ahh, you were never serious about anything but chess, weren't you Gander?"
"Love comes and goes but ambition is like steel. It is hard and stern and only melts in the right amount of heat to give up its sturdiness to become something bigger than itself. I am made of that steel but that heat comes from chess. The passion of hot desire to be greater than." He played with his food and then looked up at his son. "That's why I made you sit everyday when you were barely five, made you stare at the chess board. To understand the seriousness of the game. What it's form meant to me. To you. But you...were different. You would stare at the sky, instead of the board. Stare at rats rather than the chess pieces. I never knew where I went wrong. Thought you could be more like me."
