Having to go back to work after the amazing weekend with Charles makes me feel like it was all a figment of my imagination. The only way I know that it actually happened are the photos that I keep looking at which are in my camera roll. The morning of my first day back I drag myself out of bed quickly changing into some clothes appropriate for work. I walk into the kitchen minutes later seeing my parents at the kitchen island eating and chatting. "Good morning Della" my mom says with a grin that is too bright for this early in the morning, "morning...what's got you so happy?" I ask while making my way to the fridge.

"Your brother sent me a very interesting picture" she replies making me freeze in place eyes wide, "mhmm what was it of?" I ask playing dumb while closing the fridge when I grab what I want, "it's from the race" I look her way and she has her phone screen towards me. I smile at the photo captured of Charles and me walking into the venue, I'm smiling up at the Ferrari driver who holds my hand in his, "you look so happy with him Del" she says while taking my hand, "I love him, he's everything I've ever wanted" my dad comes over and kisses my head, "we're happy for you sweetheart, when do we get to meet him?" I bite my lip looking down at the counter, "I'm not sure, he's in Monte Carlo right now and then he'll be off to the next race" my mom laughs, "you finally meet someone that is your everything and he happens to live in Europe out of all places" I shrug sheepishly and quickly eat your breakfast. "I'll let you know if we figure something out" she nods and I take my bag before running out of the house to make it to work on time.

When I finally sit at my desk I sigh and start up my computer, turn slightly to put down my things it their usual spot at my feet. "Della" I look up to see Terri smiling at me, "morning" I reply happily, "how was the race?" I bite my lip remembering the eventful weekend, "it was really great". She smirks at the look on my face, "you got laid, didn't you" I blush at her statement and look away shyly, "how did you know?" she laughs, "I didn't it was just a lucky guess, but you confirmed it with that reaction" I huff looking up again. "If you're done teasing me, I need to catch up on some things" she pouts, "i'm sorry Del, I gotta say though you and Charles are really cute together" I relax and smile watching Terri leave me to my own devices. I open my email seconds later and sigh seeing all of the unread messages I need to go through from my weekend off. Once i've opened up the project documents I start to open the emails getting into a focused state of mind for the rest of the day.

At the end of the work day I turn off my computer and lean back in my desk chair placing an arm over my closed eyes. I take the few seconds to myself my eyes needing a break from any kind of screen. When my phone chimes I groan but sit up to grab the device sitting on my desk. The annoyance I felt seconds earlier disappears when I see a text from Charles waiting in my notifications. I smile as I unlock the phone opening up my texts.

Charles
Bonne nuit, je t'aime Della

Della
Bonne journée, je t'aime ❤️

I feel my mood improve instantly because he took into account the time change between us and knew to text me at the end of the day. I sigh before getting up to gather my things so that I can leave the office to make it home for dinner.

I drag myself through the front door ten minutes later, smiling as I kick off my shoes by the door. Walking towards the kitchen has me humming at the amazing smell coming straight at me. "How was work Del?" my mom asks with a smile, "good, catching up on everything but still good" I reply before sitting at the kitchen counter to watch her cook. The moment reminding me of nights like these when I was younger and I would be leaning forward on the bar stool to watch my mom do her magic. "Thank you for making dinner" the woman who raised me looks up, "your welcome sweetheart, I knew today would be a little tougher" I smile resting my arms on the counter as we fall into another comfortable silence, the only sound being whatever is boiling in the pot on the stove.

After a nice dinner with my parents I wash the dishes letting them enjoy the rest of their evening. When I'm done I dry my hands and go to my bedroom, on the way I spot my parents in the living room, my mom in my dad's arms while they watch something on TV. The sight makes me smile, hoping that I can have what they have, my heart wants it to be with the Ferrari driver who resides in Monte Carlo but a tinge of uncertainty clouds my mind so I continue my path to my room. I change into a tank top and sleep shorts before grabbing my phone and getting under my covers, the only light being from the lamp on my nightstand. My mind goes to Charles so I pull up our texts again...

Della
Tu me manques 🥺💕

I bite my lip waiting to see if he'll reply right away. When I see the bubbles showing that he's typing I smile.

Charles
Moi aussi ma chérie ❤️❤️

Della
Mon amie au travail m'a dit qu'on est tellement mignon ensemble, et je pensais a tois la reste du journée

Charles
Elle n'est pas tort Del 😉

I giggle imagining the smile on his face that I love so much. My eyes move to where I pinned a photo of us on the cork board above my desk, smiling at the complete joy on our faces before snuggling further under my covers. I let out a yawn blinking a few times before going back to our texts.

Della
Je vais coucher Charles ❤️💕

Charles
Bonne nuit ma belle ❤️💕

I lock my phone and place it on the nightstand before reaching up to turn off the lamp. My fingers pull the covers up to my chin as I shut my eyes letting sleep take over after a long day of working.
