A Burger With A Side Of Fries Please!

(Yum POV)

It was a hot summer day as I went to Jollibee to continue work. As I was exiting my car, I saw Popo waving hello from the distance.

"Good morning, Yum!" Popo shouted enough for me to hear.

"Good morning too." I said as walked towards him.

"Hot weather huh?" I said, trying to make small talk.

"Yeah, my fries are getting extra hot from this heat.." Popo said as he drank a water bottle.

"Let's go inside, shall we?" I said to him as he nodded in agreement.

We were met by our boss, Jollibee. A big bee who's always cheerful. He walked up to us and greeted us both.

"You guys ready for today?" Jollibee asked.

"Yes, sir!" Me and Popo said.

Our work was the same as ever, we celebrate the birthdays of the precious kids here, and, serving people who are hungry. Though, because of the hot and sunny day today, I was losing focus and was sweating, like a lot. Our work was hectic, but, I like making kids smile, it brings a smile to my jolly hamburger face. And besides, I can see Popo too, which is a nice bonus, his delicious blonde fry hair, his cute face, makes my buns heat up.

I shook my head from getting distracted, I need to focus on work...

"Hey, Yum, you good?" Popo said as he inched closer to mine, I looked away from him, because I was embarrassed.

"I-I am good, summer heat just got for me a second." I said as i made up a lie on the spot, I didn't want him to find out.

"Oh, I see, why not take a quick break then? I am sure that Jollibee can understand if you ask." Popo said with a slight smile that makes me go weak.

I nodded as I went to Jollibee.

"Jollibee, sir, can i take a quick break, summer is killing me..." I said to my boss.

"It's fine, you can take a break until you are needed." Jollibee said with a jolly smile as i went back.

I drank some water and let my thoughts be alone.

'Since when did i start liking him?' I said to myself, reminiscing at our first encounter.

I was new to the job back then, I was a junior burger, I met Popo, who back then was also a junior like me. We started by small talks, to full fledged conversations, until we hit it off and become bestest of friends, and I was happy with that, or so I thought...

But now, my feelings have changed, I love Popo, so much, my beef is overcooking at this rate.

"Hey, Yum! You are needed there, your break is done!" Jollibee said as he bursted through the door, nearly making me scream from surprise.

"Yes, sir!" I said as i immediately rushed to the counter.

"A burger with a side of fries please!" The woman as she ordered.

"Burgers and fries..." I said to myself. It's me and Popo... We're the perfect match.

"Hello?! Are you even listening to me?" The customer said, destroying my train of thought and reviving me back to reality.

"Ah... Yes, ma'am. One order of burger and fries, pronto!" I said to the crew.

Suddenly, Jollibee went to me.
