When Alvin found out he wasn't that surprised because Marilyn is simply just sexy. Him and Iain went along with their friendship but with all relationships theirs arguments. This argument didn't seem like a big deal at the time but Alvin took it personally. The dynamic trio, Marilyn, Izzy, and Arianna, always hang out in the bathroom, outside, or in the classroom. They were just the perfect fit. They told each other everything even when it was private. They knew secrets about people they don't even talk to. Anyways back to Alvin, he couldn't believe that him and Iain had an argument so he took it into his own hands. He knew he had information that would wreck Iains entire world and he used it to his advantage. He confidently waltzed up to Marilyn and told her that Iain liked her and simply walked away. Marilyn, Izzy, and Arianna looked at each other and could not believe what they just heard. Marilyn was especially surprised since her and Iain weren't that close but what was even more shocking was that Alvin was the one who told her. They were confused why innocent Alvin was trying to wreck his friends love life. Marilyn knew that it was her responsibility to let Iain know along with how she felt about him. Iain eventually heard the news since drama spread like wildfire in that classroom. He was filled with range and immediately ended his friendship with Alvin. He found himself hiding and avoiding Marilyn in the hopes of avoiding embarrassment but Marilyn was able to catch up to him. She nervously took her breath as she told him she didn't have the same feelings. She felt a cloud of guilt and remorse but ultimately knew she couldn't lie to him. Iain who had just lost his best friend and got rejected was sick to his stomach. Marilyn told her friends and they cheered her on because they knew not just anyone could pull her. Marilyn had to be swept off her feet to fall in love with a boy and that boy just wasn't Iain. They all went on with their year completely ignoring the situation but there was always something awkward between the two of them. To this current day Iain still can't get over his feelings for her.
