Chapter 24

Emily's POV
Madeline and Elijah are on a flight here. They would have come with us last week but they had beef with some of the other couples. We never told them about Emilia. The videos saying we adopted her weren't uploaded yet.

It's Friday so Emilia only has a half day today, which is good because she's super excited to meet them. So excited that she was up at 5:30. Adi called me and asked if I could come over and get her either back to bed or quiet until Maya comes. She doesn't have to be up until seven to begin with, but I doubt she's going back to sleep. I unlocked the door and walked in the house sighing. Emilia jumped up and hugged me giggling.

"Emi, honey. It's too early." I stated, rubbing my eyes one handed.

"But I can't sleeeeeep." She whined.I groaned and went to the kitchen. Her tablet was up high, so that's why she wasn't quiet. She wasn't able to get it. I grabbed it down and unlocked it.

"Play on this quietly until 7. I'll even log into Netflix. Deal?" She nodded excitedly. We didn't let her watch Netflix unless she's with us, but I'm trusting she'll stay on kids mode. I logged into everything and handed it to her. She skipped over to the couch and got herself all comfy. I dropped my purse and walked to Adi's room. He was quietly on his phone when he looked up at me and smiled.

"She asleep?"

"No, I gave her the tablet." I stated. I yawned and walked over to his bed. I crawled on it, which gave him the sign to put his phone down. I laid my head on his chest and sighed. I felt him smile and wrap his arms around me. I took in his scent and touch, which made me fall back asleep pretty fast.

I woke up alone in Adi's bed, under the covers. I looked at the clock on his wall, which said it was 8. I could hear Emilia and Maya giggling in the other room. I pushed the covers off and pushed myself off his bed, stretching. I walked out and smiled at Emilia and Maya who were playing candyland with Adi. He looked up and smiled at me.

"Morning, babe." I walked over and sat next to him.

"Hey babe. Morning Maya."

"Hi Miss Fishman." She said. Adi's smile got huge. I felt like I was on cloud nine as soon as she said that. I knew it would be that later on, but I wasn't going to tell her that. Emilia doesn't even understand that I'm still just Emily Alexander. But boy did it make me happy to hear 'Mrs Fishman'

"Mommy, you can be the green person." Emilia said. I smiled and nodded. We still had 15 minutes, candyland doesn't take that long, right?

Boy was I wrong. We weren't even halfway through the board. Maya and Adi were very competitive at this point.

"Haha I got TWO blues and that means i'm ONE ahead of you!" Maya stated. Adi rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. I mentally facepalmed and stood up.

"I think we need to get going to school." I stated. Maddie walked in with Emilia and Maya's bags. Both girls jumped up and grabbed their bags. Me and Adi cleaned up the game while they got their shoes on.

Once everyone was ready, me and Adi took both girls hand and walked out of the house. We decided to drive the girls to school, since we needed some groceries. We got Emi into her car seat and Maya into hers. We decided to have one for her here, and one at her house. Adi turned on the radio and backed out of the drive way. the girls sang their hearts out in the backseat to Taylor Swift. It reminded me of when I did the same exact thing when I was six, when her first album came out. Now their jamming to her rewrite of them. It made me smile. We pulled up to the drop off line and waved the girls goodbye.

"Will Mad Mad and Elijah be here when I get home?" Emilia asked.

"They sure will! We're even going to dinner with them at around six." Adi said. Emilia got really excited. Maya was as well. Both may have never met them but they've been watching some of their videos on Emilia's tablet.
