"Please don't fret, Mick." Oswald begged.
His words broke Brer Rabbit from his little trip down memory lane.
"I'm sure they'll find somewhere." Willa said in an attempt to comfort the mouse.
"It's not yer fault. We knew this day was comin'. At least y'all abolished the curse so it won't hurt nobody no more. We'll figure out a place to live." Brer Rabbit told the icon
"It's just not fair! You haven't done anything wrong, but the world isn't satisfied. It's all getting taken away because humanity isn't satisfied until everything turns out exactly how they want it. You're going to lose any kind of home because the people of my company are too chicken to do anything but give in to every little complaint! Yet you tell me it's fine. You say I shouldn't be sorry, and shrug off the problem while carrying on with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.
I know you don't like me saying this, but I'm sorry. I'm sorry you're homeless. I'm sorry I didn't do anything about Bad Rabbit. I'm sorry that the curse and the one who cast it slipped under my radar. I'm sorry for being too weak and stupid to fight against people with less power than me. I'm apologizing to you for all of this right now, Brer Rabbit." Mickey said before turning to Oswald.
"Ozzy. I'm sorry for your years of torment. I'm sorry I didn't know about your existence for so long."
"That was completely out of your control." his brother interjected.
"No, Ozzy. Dad gave me what I needed to learn the truth, since he passed before he could tell me himself. It's my fault you weren't rescued sooner. I was a coward. I was unable to bring myself to face facts. You see, I refused to look at the truth I had been given access to until some time after mom died. For that, I'm sorry." the mouse confessed sadly.
"Ozzy, Bendy, Finn, Philby, Willa, Charlene, Maybeck, Amanda, and Jess. I'm sorry you've been roped into this. Things would be easier if I'd had the sense to properly deal with these problems when they came up. For this, I apologize. However, I must also thank you for your help, determination, and support."
He took a deep breath before turning his gaze back to Brer Rabbit and saying, "I swear that, no matter what, I WILL find you a new home."
"That won't be necessary, Mr. Mouse."
Brer Rabbit perked up at the voice.
"Uncle Remus?" he gasped hopefully.
"Y'all just come along with me now. And don't you worry none about them, they're with me and you don't need to fret no mo'." Uncle Remus said.
Mickey smiled, fresh tears clouding his vision as the inhabitants of the former Splash Mountain were led away, Brer Rabbit singing merrily all along the way.
"That's what Uncle Remus said! That's what Uncle Remus said! Listen now to what I say! That's how Bad Rabbit got his pay! More, more, tell us more! Well, Mickey and his trusty crew came along to set things right, they set fire to the curse, that's how Bad Rabbit got his deserves!"
