(Richie's POV)

He opened the door and lead me inside. The outside was nothing like the inside, the inside was clean a perfect. He plopped down on the couch.

"Well, heres my house."

"Where are your parents?" I asked.

"Mom is out for like a week knowing her and my dad left for groceries about 5 years ago."

"Jeez, I'm sorry."

"Nah I'm fine really." He responded as he frowned.

"How about we go out? We could get ice cream?" I offered.

"Really?"

"Yeah, why not?"

"Okay." Eddie smiled.

Okay now I know this is wrong to think or at least to soon but he has something that everyone else doesn't have. And it. Drives. Me. Insane. I cant help but think about him even when he isnt in the room. What is wrong with me?

"Ready?" I asked when he entered.

"Yeah."

We walked out to my car and that's when his mom (or at least I think) pulled up.

"Edddiiiieeeee..." she called out.

I didn't even have to hear her you just knew she was drunk.

"I won't be home for a couple days so I just wanted to tell y-"

She paused and looked at me.

"Who is this Eddie?"

"Ma he's just a friend. We are going out for a little ice cream is all."

"But Eddie you can't, your sick."

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IM! NOT! SICK!"

"Get in the house Eddie."

Eddie cried and started walking to the house.

"Nope." I said and pulled him back and opened the car door shoving him in.

"What are you doing with my son?!"

"Don't worry he wasn't complaining, see he is safe here. Not in there. So I'm taking your "son" for a little while." I said and got in the car.

I sped off and you could see her screaming in the driveway, I could give her zero fucks.

"Why did you do that? You didn't have to." Eddie said turning to me.

"I know but with how big she is and how little you are I didn't want you getting hurt, especially when she is drunk and angry."

Eddie sniffled and once we were far away from his house I pulled over.

"Hey, its okay." I turned to him.

He was full on sobbing in his hands now. I would be lying if I said it hadn't broke me inside.

"Come here." I said and pulled him in for a hug. After a tense moment he just melted into my arms, his breath was warming the crook of my neck and his hair and skin were soft on my face.

"Thank you Richie." He wiped the tears away.

"Its no problem Eds."

He laughed.

Awwwwww he laughed! I made him laugh! Oh its the sweetest thing ever!

"Is that what she's always like?" I couldn't help asking.

He nodded.

"I'm gonna propose a plan here. What about you stay at my house for a little while and take it easy?"

"What I can't do that. We just met and I trust you and all but your parents would be furious."

"They really don't care they are always sucked into my little brother Alex that they wouldn't even notice you."

"Maybe..." Eddie responded.

Then we drove off to the ice cream place and pulled into the parking lot. He got out of the car and immediately started shivering.

"Dammit I should have brought the coat. I didn't think I would need it." He said.

I came up from behind him and pulled off my Letterman Jacket, wrapping it around him. He slipped his arms through and looked at me. It was really cute seeing him in my puffy overwhelming jacket. It was to big for him but to me it fit him perfectly. He turned to me and I smiled. He chuckled slightly.

"Thanks." He laughed.

AHHHHHHH HE. IS. WEARING. MY. LETTERMAN. JACKET. HOLY. SHIT. Honestly this looks better on him than I think any other jacket would.

I'm. Dying.

He IS soft. At least when you get to know him. At first he is kind of a jackass but we're good now.

Sorry everyone I took a break but I'm back and I also am working on my other fanfic on my reddie_jlaw profile! -Scarlett
