Life was never normal for Harry. Since Hagrid bursted into his house, calling him a wizard, to going to a school; the home of a three headed dog, to a chamber filled with secrets no one should know.

But never did he believe he would have friends.

It was third year and he was currently in the Gryffindor common room with Ron and Hermione.

Ron, as normal, was stuffing his face full of chocolate frogs and Berty Botts every flavour bean.

Hermione had her head stuck in a book, 'A guide to Magical Creatures'. She seemed content, eyes full of light as she read more and more about all the mythical creatures that were believed to just be in storybooks were alive and roaming the world.

Harry was sat in front of the fire, sulking over how his life never seemed to be perfect. How he had recently seen the man believed to be out to murder him in the fire, telling him about their relation as a family.

The only person missing was Y/N. She knew how to calm Harry. She knew his thoughts, she had been through the same. Being the daughter of Sirius Black never ran smoothly at school, especially now with the rise of her father's escape.

But she always believed the innocence her father was. So, when she had heard of his great escape she couldn't be more happy, smiles were always worn on her face despite the constant torments of fellow classmates.

Y/N began to descend the stairs, on her way to a study session in the library when she came across Harry staring absentmindedly at the fire her father once was,

"Hey Harry," She smiled, coming to sit beside him by the fire, face turning golden by the flames,

"Oh, hey Y/N," He smiled, scooting away so she can join him on the cushion, which, she gladly appreciated.

"How are you?" She never knew how to start a conversation that could lead a stray to the mention of her father.

"Confused," Harry's eyes stayed trained on the flickering of the flames, his fingers fiddling with each other.

"Understandable. Anything you want to speak about?" Being a therapist was not on the list of jobs Y/N had in mind.

"Not really, it's just nice to have you here," He smiled, eyes finally leaving the fire to stare at the girl be forth him, someone who could be classed as family despite his rough knowledge.

"I'll always be here Harry," She smiled, hanging an arm around his shoulder. "I miss him too you know," She spoke again, looking to meet Harry's eyes,

"It really is difficult without him," He spoke, "Even if I never met him," His head hung low as he recollected the thoughts of how different life would have been,

"He loves you," Y/N said, pulling Harry into her, "He always has."

The two sat staring into the fire, the blaze heating their faces, the smoke filling their nostrils causing them to sneeze occasionally.

"You really are a miracle Y/N Y/L/N." Harry's arm hung loosely around her shoulder, his fingers squeezing her arm slightly.

"That's me," She laughed out, head resting on Harry's shoulder,

"When we see him again, he'll be safe won't he?" Harry muttered,

"Yes, he will," But in reality, Y/N had no idea how it would be once he came back to them in physical form, she just hoped he would be.

"Everyone is safe when Dumbledore is around." Harry whispered, eyes fixated back on the fire,

"Not necessarily Harry," She said,

"What do you mean by that?" Harry took his eyes away from the fire and back on her again.

"You always seem to get yourself nearly killed Harry Potter,"

"Isn't that what I'm here for? To keep the action going?" He shrugged, agreeing with his statement before Y/N could speak up,

"No you're not. You should be here to live a normal life, a good life, like our parents did. With friends." She smiled thinking to all the memories they have had, pushing aside all the disasters and near death experiences Harry had already endured at such a young age.

"Everything will work out in the end, I can feel it,"

"I do hope so Harry Potter." She always liked to say his first and last name.

The two relished in the feeling of having family close by, thinking to all the great memories yet to have, remembering those they had lost and how lucky they were to be together once more.
