Y/n looked out the car window as buildings and people passed by. Though he tried to ignore it, he was beginning to feel the nervousness and anxiety he felt last night. Just then, he saw F/n's hand. He looked up and at F/n, who had been trying to get his attention from the front seat. The h/c-ette reached up and took off his headphones/earbuds.
"Hmm?"
"Check out the venue."
F/n reached out and handed his phone to his friend. Y/n took it from his hand and began scrolling through the images taken of the venue.
"They've got a pretty big stage compared to the one we performed on last year."
"Yeah..."
"You think all the seats will be filled? It's a large area."
"Maybe..."
F/n took note of Y/n's behavior. "Come on. Be a little more positive. That's what you always tell me."
"I know, but..."
"It's none of my business but...are things alright at home? You seemed upset when we arrived to pick you up," F/n asked quietly.
Y/n sighed. "More or less, I guess... It's been a little rough being there... It's suffocating, honestly..."
"I see... Then..."
Y/n waited for F/n to continue talking. "Wanna stay over at my house? I'm sure my dad won't mind. Right, Dad?"
"Yeah, of course! Go right ahead if you want to, Y/n."
"Thanks..." Y/n replied with a small smile.
Eventually, the competition venue was in sight. "Looks like we're here," F/n's dad said as they advanced in the direction of the venue.
F/n looked out the window, taking in the surroundings as well as the building itself. "I wonder if the guys are already there."
The car turned and pulled into the parking lot. F/n's dad whistled, amazed by how many cars filled up the parking lot. "Looks like you guys will be performing for a big crowd."
F/n grew excited, imagining how packed the venue must be. Y/n took notice and smiled to himself. "There are no open spots," F/n's dad muttered under his breath.
"Didn't contest participants get reserved spots last time?"
"Yeah. They did."
F/n looked around for a bit before spotting some people near the entrance who were wearing the same shirt. "Dad, let's go over there and ask them. They might know."
"Alright," he answered and began driving toward the entrance.
Once they got close, F/n's dad lowered the window. "Excuse me?"
"Yes, sir? How can we help you?"
"You don't happen to have reserved parking, do you?"
"Yes, we do, but they're reserved for competition participants only."
"Well, I just so happen to have two participants with me."
F/n grinned and waved. One of them recognized F/n and got up from their seat, a clipboard in their hand. "Welcome. [Band Name], right?" they asked.
F/n's dad nodded. "Ah, but, it's only half of us."
"F/L/n F/n and...?"
Y/n leaned forward and waved so he could be seen. "And L/n Y/n. Then, you're missing...Hitoshi Koga and Nao Yoshioka."
