Lisa
I go back to where I was sitting. I am zoning out, what uncle jiyong told me keep repeating on my head.
Am I wrong for you, ruby? Are we really not meant to be together?
I looked at ruby and saw how happy she is. I can't help but hug her in her waist and rest my chin in her shoulder. I closed my eyes and savour the moment.
"What's wrong, lisa?" I heard her ask, I just shook my head and hug her tighter.
"So lisa, I heard you and your friends are into car racing?" Her cousin, lucas, asked me. I sit properly and answer his question.
"Yeah, but that's not our sport, we only do it just for fun" I removed my hands on ruby and took a sip on the beer in the table. I don't know how many beers I've been drinking.
They just keep on talking and I'll only answer them when they asked me a question. I keep on pushing aside the words that uncle jiyong had told me but I couldn't take it anymore. I need to talk to someone, I need to talk to Jisoo.
"Love, excuse me, I just have to call someone" I tell jennie and stand up from where I was sitting.
"Who would you call?" She asked.
"Jisoo" I said and she just nod. I kissed her forehead before going out.I immediately dialed jisoo's number.
"Chu! Where are you?"
"Lisa! I'm here at the bar! Everyone here misses you, lisa!!"
"Chu, can you please go outside for awhile? I have something to talk to you. This is really important"
"Sure sure wait"I already stopped going on clubs and bars after me and jen got married, Of course, I want to focus on my wife and I don't want her to think that I'm not serious towards her.
I'm guessing that she's already making her way outside the bar for I heard her say sorry to every person she would bump into. I also heard the music fades. Once she's already outside she said, "So? Spill, lis"
"So, uncle jiyong dropped the divorce bomb at me, this is not exaclty what he says but he told me that I can't make his daughter happy"
"and divorcing her would?"
I didn't answer. I don't know, Maybe?
"....how much do you love ruby, lisa?"
"So much, chu. So much that I'm willing to do everything for her"
"Lis, for the past 8 months of you guys being together, do you think she's starting to love you?"I inhlaed. No, that's the answer. it actually felt like everyday that passes she hates me even more.
"No, chu" I lowered my head and I didn't notice the tear that escaped my eyes.
She have walls built for herself. I actually climb that wall using marriage but I was surprised that she had walls much more stronger than that. And it confuses me, should I give up now? What if I'm half way through? What if I'm already having a chance? Argh! This is so frustating!
"Look, lisa, you can't keep running on the walls she built. Because in the process one will break, and that wouldn't be the wall. It'll be you"
Once the call dropped I went to where my wife is and sit beside her.
"Lisa, is there any problem? You've been zoning out since earlier" she asked me then looked at me in the eyes.
And then I was lost. In those brown eyes.
I can't let her go. I love her so much.
I shooked my head and stood up, I saw her cousins with there lovers dancing in the middle and so I will ask my wife to dance with me.
