Our present will be a lot different if we've listened to our parents.Kai is nothing like that as he grew up not living by the rules. Even if his parents are living by the books of Law and order.
If Kai belonged to anything on earth. It will be his car a Nissan Skyline BNR32 - Fast, Loud, and powerful. The engine is roaring like a monster in a 90's Blockbuster. Godzilla; fearsome and powerful. Not meant to be contained but to be released in its natural habitat. And Kai's natural habitat? Is the streets.
The night blew a hot breeze or maybe he needs to put his A/C back-removed for more speed. Open windows will do, as he thought while lowering the windows. Red lights keep beaming through his untinted windshield as the car zooms by from one car to another. He pushes the car indulging in the roar of its engine. The tires screeched in protest as Kai hit the sharp turns inside Taguig City.
"Dude where are you? this car meet is lit and packed I wouldn't miss this if I were you," A familiar voice busts through Kai's Voicemail after his phone beeps.
For Kai, Car meets are like a haven for car enthusiasts and car lovers. Some people attend car meets for them to brag their Rides and enjoy the aesthetics of other people's rides; few of them stay to dance with the music and enjoy the food, and most of them are here just to vibe the night with their friends or meet new friends.
But sometimes they create enemies too.
"The Godzilla of metro manila is finally here!" A tall man announced, wearing a football Varsity jacket. As Kai arrives at an open parking lot filled with vibrant lights and cars - modified to its core. People are swinging to the music, laughing, and getting wasted. Young people enjoying the night careless and carefree. Not worrying a thing if tomorrow will be another heavy stone to carry, all they care about, that the night is still young to go home. You can't pick up one's ear if you aren't shouting or whispering through their ears-overlapped with loud music played by the DJ.
Can't sleep by Vanic X K.Flay. Plays by the DJ
Everyone cheers to Kai, taking pictures from their phones. They're blocking my way. But still moving. Cameras and phone shuttering from left to right blocking Kai's path.
He spots an empty parking space and positions the car. Kai pulls the handbrake, turns the ignition off, and took the key before the tall guy swings by Kai's door.
"Hey Goat you don't have to do that every time I arrived," Kai shakes his head.
"Haha! It's the least I can do for saving me from the last slip race."
"Your head still shaved? thought it will grow back during the summer." Kai asked
"This Goat doesn't need a hair, This hunk still brings chicks to his civic." Goat chuckled.
As Kai stepped out of his car a redhead girl caught his attention- A Ginger with beautiful Green eyes. Rocking a red tank top underneath her leather jacket, and a pair of jean shorts with matching leather boots. Lounging on the top of a red car's hood- A 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS.
"Hey, Kai-ju! Glad you can make it, " Her eyes light up gazing at Kai's messy dark hair and charming smile.
"I don't miss my classes, Ron."
"Well I'm glad you're here, my idiot brother can now leave me alone and annoy the hell out of you instead," said Ron.
"Hey! I told you it's Handsome idiot brother," Goat contests as Ron and Kai shake with laughter.
