i felt a tap on my shoulder as i walked to my class, i looked back to see gee

"okay so i want to apologize" she said and i chuckled

"alright, walk and talk we already late and it's the first month" i said

"it's my fault all that happened, i found it by the way and i'm like really really sorry i made you lose your job and stuff. i was just not having a good day and i aint mean to let it out on you" she said as we walked inside the classroom

"okay"

"okay ?"

"yeah what am i supposed to say" i said sitting in my seat

"i was expecting that answer but i'm actually sorry like my anger been getting to me lately and ion like it and i'm tryna fix it" she said grabbing my arm gently and turning me around so i can face her

we held eye contact for a second and i started to feel something in my stomach. i looked away and started taking my books out

"you forgive me nyeli ?"

"i forgive you geeoni" i said looking back at her and she smiled at me.

"what the fuck" i said to myself with a confused look. it better just be a nervous feeling and not no other feeling

"alright class, remember how i said it's the first month im gonna go easy on y'all" she said shaking her head "y'all have this project that's due december"

"can we do partners cuz i wanna work with nyeli" geeoni said and i looked at her confused

"uh no this individual work" ms. noel said

"okay so..."

"bro did you have ms. noel yet" i said walking with milly to lunch

"no why"

"she giving this project thing out, like damn we just started the school year" i said shaking my head

"can never catch a break" she said as we sat down on the table

"hey bae's" i said to charisma and diamond

"heyyyy" they all said back

"i know you and gee got almost every class together y'all worked it out" milly asked and i nodded

"y'all stay bringing her up to me like she don't sit with us" i said rolling my eyes

"it's cuz she lik-"

"hey guys" gee said coming up to the table with  za'niyah and shaniece. they waved and i smiled but i really wanted to hear what charisma was gonna say

"uh nyeli can i talk to you" gee said

"you can say it here" milly said and i shook my head of how protective she is of me

"but it's kind of importa-"

"we all gang, you can talk" charisma said cutting her

"nevermind" gee said putting her head down and closing her eyes

"ny" diamond said and she gave me this "are you serious" look

i sighed and said "come on geeoni"

i grabbed her by her hand and pulled her to the hallway

"so what you wanted to say" i asked as i ate my chips

"okay so you know we been knowing each other since we were young right" she said and i nodded

"sooo .. i don't really know what i'm feeling but it's something more than this friendship" she said speeding on the last part

"well i don't really know what to say since we literally just fought" i said joking and she laughed a little

"i don't know i haven't really thought about it" i said looking away and looking back at her

"your good ?" i asked

"yea no i'm good, i just needed to get that off my chest" i smiled and hugged her and she winced like i was putting her in pain, i pull back from the hug confused

"girl are you okay" i asked with a little chuckle

"yeah, from the fight you know" she said playing with her rings

"please geeoni i know when you are lying" i said then literally dragged her to the nearest bathroom "plus i didn't even hit you hard"

"let me see" i asked her and she had teary eyes "only if your comfortable, i'm basically a doctor i just wanna see if your good"

she lifted up her shirt and i seen a bunch of bruises on her stomach, some old and some fresh and some burns on her chest. my eyes widened at the sight i looked up at her and tears fell down her face

"geeoni" i said pulling her into a safer hug and she sob into my chest  "who did this"

"my loving parents ny" she said sarcastically

"i am so so sorry this is happening to you, you don't deserve this at all" i said kissing her forehead "you wanna come to my house tonight or maybe for the week at least"

"just tonight, i don't want them getting mad at me" she said and i just shook my head

"the girls know" i asked and she shook her head quickly

"no and don't tell them like at all" she said

"i won't, i promise you i wont" i said "but baby you gotta tell somebody"

she just stood there and i smiled a little

"well at least you told me, that's a step i'm proud of you" i said "let's get back to the table"

"alright" she said and we walked back and sat down. she laid her head down on my legs and i was playing in her hair. everybody looked at us confused

"so-" shaniece said and i shook my head no and mouthed "not right now"

they nodded and got back to what they was doing

"you'll be fine, i'll help you" i whispered to her and i seen her crack a smile
