"hey gee, you good" i said as i answered the phone

"uh no, i just ran away is it okay if i stay at yours" she said and i sighed

"of course, just make it here as fast as you can it's dark out"

"ok" she said then hung up

"who you was on the phone with, your daddy" she said

"ma you know that man don't call me" i said laughing "nah but i was on the phone with gee, said she can come over"

i looked at her and she gave me this look

"mommy"

"cmon ma, i told you how i feel like she don't feel safe in that house i'm tryna keep her out there for a day at least"

"how you know it's not safe, you live there" she asked

"no but-"

"but i ain't saying no, that's cute you looking out for your friends but ion know about gee baby" she said putting her shoes on

"okay she can be like hard to deal with but she got shit going on at home and i don't wanna leave somebody knowing i could've helped" i said seriously

"yeah i get it, be careful and watch your mouth i'll be back home by morning" she said and i nodded

my mother recently became a doctor so she's never home like that anymore

which gets pretty lonely not even gonna lie

i heard knocking on my door which took me out of my thoughts. i went to go open it and seen geeoni standing there with her eyes bloodshot red. i grabbed her and led her to my kitchen

i got her favorite thing to eat which is a croissant and put cheese inside. i put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and gave it to her. she looked at me and shook her head

"you gotta eat gee" i said and she just looked at me

"alright come on" i said and dragged her to my room. i closed my door and turned off my lights which made my blue led lights fill the entire room

"let it out" i said as we sat on my bed facing each other

"it's the usual there's nothing to say really" she said rubbing her forehead

i pulled her body down so that she can lay her head on my lap

"i'm sorry, i don't know how to help" i said

"it's okay" she smiled "you listening to me and letting me stay here is enough and i really do appreciate it"

"aw" i said and kissed her forehead

we stayed like this for a while, while i played in her hair. she looked up at me and smiled

"thank you" she said and i looked at her confused

"for what"

"you know, being there for me i feel safe with you" she said and cracked a smile

i did nothing but smile back and gave her kisses all over her face and her giggles combined with the kissing noises

i stopped and she looked at me then my lips. i looked at her then at her lips. all of a sudden i felt her lips on mines

"wait i- i didn't mean to" she said after pulling back

she got up but before she can leave the room, i grabbed her hand and pulled her back but now on top of me. i kissed her and she smiled. we pulled back in and tongue kissed for a hot minute

"i thought you didn't like me" she said and i shrugged my shoulders

"i never said i did or didn't" i said poking her cheek

"wanna watch a movie" i said and she nodded

i woke up to knocking on the door. i looked around and seen gee sleeping. i looked at the time and seen it was 3 in the morning. i'm now confused because my mom doesn't come home till 8

i get up and walked to the door. i looked through the peephole and see gee parents. my eyes widened and i ran softly backed to the room

"oh my- gee wake up" i said shaking her lightly

"yes ny" she said

"your parents outside my door" i said and she widened her eyes and sped walked to the door

"oh shit my phone. they know i'm here" she mouth and i swear i almost died

"okay i got this" i said and told her go back to the room. i opened the door and smiled. the smell of alcohol filled my nose

"hi how can i help you two" i said

"is geeondra here" she said and i nodded no. i still never understood why they called her that

"well my phone says-"

"yeah she was here earlier but left in a hurry and had left her phone, it's still sitting on the couch there" i said cutting her off and they nodded

"well if you see her tell her come back home" they said and i just shut the door

i walked to the room and seen gee under the covers curled up

"they are gone" i said and she sat up "why do your mom call you geeondra"

"my grandmothers name, they started naming me that right after she died" she said and shrugged her shoulders "makes me cry every time i hear that name"

i laid down and started to cuddle her

"hey sing for me" she said and i smiled because i didn't think she would remember i can sing

"what do you want me to sing" i said with a chuckle

"uh love me now by john legend" she said and i nodded

i started to sing from the chorus and i see her drift off, i smiled and continued singing
