Swim To Me

CHAPTER ONE

(Shimizu Aoi POV)

The school bell rang once again, and its time for everyone in the class to go home.

But for me, it's a start for a brand-new day.

"Hey, Aoi. Where are you going after this? You wanna hang out with us? It's summer break!" My friend, Sato Yui asked.

I smiled and shook my head as my reply, "Gomen! I have to pass today, there is something I have to do today!"

"Well, I guess... you haven't really moved on with him, Aoi-chan?"

I shrugged. Maybe?

"I guess you are right, Yui-chan. After seeing Tachibana-senpai's swimming way back in Junior High, I'm really that head over heels after all," I replied and laughed as I continue to embarrass myself.

"Well, well. Since summer comes once every year, then you shouldn't waste your time, right?"

I carried my bag and went to our classroom door.

I looked around and made a peace sign.

"Sorry again, Yui-chan! I'll make it up to you and to everyone! See you!"

And I ran towards their swimming pool.

I guess, it is going to be their first practice as a team, right? Since the prefectural tournament will be soon...

(Tachibana Makoto POV)

"Gou-chan, I guess we'll be revising our training regimen, right?"

Gou raised her eyebrows and sighed. "Yes, Makoto-senpai! We have to! Look at your bodies, you have to maintain your figure after all! You are athletes, you should be aware that an athlete, especially a swimmer must maintain good muscle and form!"

"Well, I guess you are right, Gou-chan, Makoto-senpai! I have to study for good theories about a balanced diet!" Rei said.

Meanwhile, Nagisa whined and clung to me. "That's unfair, Gou-chan! Makoto-chan... I'm a growing boy, besides I can eat the protein powder recipe Gou-chan prepared, right?!"

I suddenly want to throw-up, now Nagisa mentioned the protein powders Gou bought from the Sports store.
"We just have to follow what's needed for us. We are swimmers after all," I smiled.

I sensed someone was looking at me.

When I looked back, there was no one.

Don't tell me, Iwatobi High School's pool area is haunted?!!!

"What's with that face, Makoto?"

I jumped. Phew! It was Haru.

"You scared me, Haru!"

"Let's go practice." He said while putting up his swimming cap and gloves.

I laughed. "We should now! The prefectural tournament is up very soon! We should be fired up by then!"

(Shimizu Aoi POV)

My heart's in frenzy at the moment. Tachibana-senpai almost saw me! Thank heavens he didn't notice and put his attention to Nanase-senpai.

Well, you may wonder how I knew these guys, even though they are older than me.

And you are right, I liked Tachibana-senpai for a long, long time.

My admiration started way back in Junior High School. I went to the same school as Hazuki, Nanase, and Tachibana-senpai.

"Go, Go, Go, Makoto!"

"Go, Go, Go Makoto!"

I was in the side of the stadium bleachers, and currently looking who's leading with the backstroke swimming competition,"

"Swim, Swim, Swim, Makoto!"

"Swim, Swim, Swim, Makoto!"

So his name is Makoto, huh...

When I saw him turn, and it was his last spurt, I'm sure my eyes twinkled.

I want to know him more.

Makoto-san.

"Hey, Aoi-chan! I heard they were graduating today!"

"Who?"

"Makoto-san and the other guys!"

I stopped.

What.... They're graduating already?

"Did you know where they'll be in High School?" I'll follow him, wherever he goes. I want to know him more. I want to see more of his swimming!

My classmate just shrugged his shoulder. "I don't know, I heard Nanase will be attending Iwatobi High School, so maybe he'll be there too.. since coach Sasabe mentioned that the both of them are inseparable... "

And that's why I'm here, as a Freshman here in Iwatobi High School.

Well, it's the summer break already, so I'll be turning second year and Tachibana-senpai will be graduating that year too.

I want to treasure everything this time.
