Here are some tips!

If you feel like you aren't getting attention, don't cause dumb drama like running away, killing someone, setting something on fire, hurting another person, having mental breakdowns that don't relate to plot, or having someone kidnap you/try to kill or hurt you, ect. Most times it won't advance plot whatsoever and it'll just make others ignore you more because they don't want to be involved in your drama. Of course you can do any of these things in roleplay but don't do it just for attention. It'll make others leave or mute you. You could even get banned or kicked from the group or the roleplay entirely.
Instead of causing drama, do something like dye your hair, invite some friends, or make a soundtrack for your group.

If you've done something listed in the paragraph above, don't worry! Theres always a way to undo it. Simply say "Void" or "Ignore" to the previous message. Anyone can use "Void" but mainly it's only up to the player, admins, and host(s).

Speaking of voids, don't try to force them on others! If someone does something you don't want to happen, tell them how you'd like the plot to go. Remember to be kind and if they say no or don't apply it don't get mad! Simply go with their idea because you can always host your own roleplay or find another group.

On the topic of controlling plots and such, allow others to have their moments. Your moment will come so don't force it. I've been in roleplays where I didn't get spotlight for 12 hours. Try talking to other side characters, get some of their backstory and plot. If it's an rpg or adventure themed roleplay, you're in luck! You could've just gotten an ally or a fun rival to battle and improve your 1v1 roleplays.

But as with any roleplay, there comes op players, meta gamers, and whiners. Lets start with OP Players.
OP players are overpowered and don't let anyone else win. An example:

Normal Player: *I shoot a fireball spell at Sander*
OP: *Dodges*
Normal Player: *As the spell misses, I bring out my sword*
OP: *Knocks sword out of your hand and it bounces off the wall so you die*
Normal Player: Wtf?

A way to avoid OP-ing or how to stop an OP is simply ignore them! You can also avoid your own powers until it's needed. Another way to avoid being OP is making a reference sheet. (There will be examples in the character part)

Now onto Meta Gamers. People who's characters somehow know EVERYTHING that wasn't mentioned in the actual roleplay.
Example:

Normal player: Yeah, Katie is weak to fire but she hasnt revealed it yet.
(Later in rp)
MG: *He knew Katie's weakness was fire*
Normal Player: What, how??

To not Meta Game you can hide the chat or leave the room until it's finished. You can ask someone to call you back when they other people talking are done. But if you want to know more about plot/backstory/whatever they talked about, make a paper or a file with notes and keep it close by so if you aren't sure if something is meta gaming just look at the sheet.

You've reached the end of published parts.
