Aaron's POV

I watched Hamilton examine the terrain that stretched out next to him. I truly wish I could tell you what was happening in his brain. He was probably thinking of his beautiful bride, not the agony it caused me to see the man I loved for 12 years get married to someone besides me.

But of course, that probably didn't matter to him. Yes, he was bisexual, but there was no way in hell that man had any sort of romantic feeling towards me.

All necks snapped to the aisle once a beautiful piano solo played, but not mine.

I stared at Alexander, refusing to let my eyes lay on his soon-to-be wife. He was smiling, but it didn't seem genuine. Similar to how you fake a smile for family pictures. I questioned silently why he was faking a smile, he was getting married to a woman he loved for six years.

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the priest begin the wedding speech. I felt a tear trickle down my cheek as I thought of how I would never find a person like Alexander. My thoughts were interrupted once more around five minutes later once the phrase;

"Do you, Alexander Hamilton, take Elizabeth Schuyler to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

Say no, Please, Say no to this, Alexander. I thought, regarding how selfish I sounded.

"I do"

That was it.

The man I loved for twelve years, now never to be mine.

"And do you, Elizabeth Schuyler, take Alexander Hamilton, to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

I already knew the answer to this.

"I do"

"You may kiss the bride"

I clapped my hands along with the friends and family members that attended the ceremony, wiping a tear from my eye, despite the pain this will cause me for the remainder of my life.

Alexander's POV

I look onto the open land that spanned beside me, thinking;

This is it, no turning back. Ah, freedom, something I will never see again.

I put my thoughts aside when a piano solo started playing. I put on a fake smile and awaited her simple, yet impacting arrival. Elizabeth entered the room, gracefully walking along with the piano, her elegant dress brushing softly against the white carpet, which was previously decorated with red, pink, and white rose petals.

I was blown away by how gorgeous she was, even though her makeup was running from her tears. She finally made her way in front of me, staring happily into my eyes, I returned the look, keeping my eyes on only hers.

"Do you, Alexander Hamilton, take Elizabeth Schuyler to be lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do"

"And do you, Elizabeth Schuyler, take Alexander Hamilton to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do"

"You may now kiss the bride"

I was engulfed in a sweet kiss by my new wife and repeating a thought.

Ah, freedom, something I will never see again.

Aaron's POV

I joke around with some friends, faking a smile while watching the newlyweds dance together happily. I must have been staring, because, after a while, Alexander came over to his group of friends and me, a large grin on his face.

"If the tomcat can get married, there's hope for our ass after all" John, a friend of Alexander and mine laughed.

"Well, what about that lovely lady you're dating?" Alexander chuckled.

"She's in England, I'm not sure if I want to spend the rest of my life with her, though..." He replied, scratching his face and chuckling. We laughed, joked, and drank for a while, and before we knew it, the reception was over. I speed walked in the breezy night, trying to reach my small black car, when I heard my name being called. I turned around and was met face to face with Alexander, whose breath hot from running.

"Thanks for coming" he smiled, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

"No problem. Congrats again, Alexander." I replied, hugging him, my heart noticeably beating hard against his.

He smiled and ran away, catching up with some friends, as I slowly get into my car. I sighed, rubbing my eyes, and resting my hands and head on the wheel.

I waited too long, and I paid for it.
