2-The Reunion

     "It was a fine movie wasn't it Richu", her Dad asked her.

     They enjoyed the family time together and just reached home.

     "Oh yeah! Dad, I forgot to tell you. My classmate John called this evening", started Richa.

     "Weren't we in a movie this evening?", interrupted her mom.

     "Before we went to the movie mom! Anyways, the thing is we are going to have a Reunion. My high school one."

     "Oh good! When is it?", her Dad asked?

     "It's in a fortnight, here",

     "That's better if it's here. Is Ishika coming with you?", asked her mom.

     "No. She is in U.S right now and the day we have reunion is her mom's birthday too".

     "That's the right thing to do. Poor kid! How much she got to face in her childhood because of her parents? Does she visit her father?", asked her mom again.

     "Yeah, she visits him just like she visits her mother. Once a year. He lives in Goa now".

     "I haven't seen her since you came to Engineering. Invite her once she gets here."

     "Cool mom. I will do that."

     Richa finished her supper and went to bed. But still, all her thoughts were on that reunion.

      Don't know when this thing will be over. Thinking all those things she went to bed.

      The next day it was very late when Richa woke up. Her slightly swollen eyelids showed that she didn't sleep well. But she caught up the bus.

      "What happened Richa? Why your eyes are swollen?", asked Elena.

      "Are you preparing that hard for placements?", chucked Aditya holding his hands with Varsha.

      "No guys. It's just I am thinking about attending this Reunion with my high school classmates. I told them that I would come. But I feel nervous", said Richa truthfully.

       One thing is you can believe her words. When Richa says she is nervous, she is nervous. Holding something inside and being the other outside, it's just not her. If she doesn't like someone, they will feel that.

       "Why do you feel nervous Richu? What's wrong with meeting old classmates?", asked Aditya again.

       "It's been six years. And there are some people I am not comfortable --", but before she completed the sentence, Swaroop came running towards them.

       "My God! Are you sure there are no dogs behind you? Easy now Roop. What's the matter?", Aditya looked at him.

       "I have been talking to our Professor and he mentioned that placements are taking place next month for sure", Swaroop told them excitedly.

       "Wow, that's amazing", replied everyone unanimously. But there is a tinge of sarcasm in their voices and it is not unnoticed by Swaroop.

        He asked immediately "What's with that sarcasm? You guys knew?!"

        "Unfortunately we do Roop. It's posted on the notice board this morning and our Principal is going to conduct a seminar about this tomorrow", explained Varsha.

         "Oh no. I am the last to know then. Dammit", Roop threw fists in frustration.

         "Come on now. You would have known it the first if you took a look on that big notice board before the cafeteria and their menu", told Elena patting on his shoulder and winking to the rest of them. Everyone burst into laughter at once.

         Swaroop, Elena, Aditya and Varsha are the ones that are close to Richa in college. As everyone is in the same department, they hang out with each other most of the time. Anyone feels shocked when a couple forms in their very gang. That's exactly how everyone felt when Aditya told them that he and Varsha are seeing each other. Not only them but the whole college was shocked.

         There is this rumour in college that Aditya and Richa are seeing each other. Aditya is a topper and Richa is like the department's cutie. Before anyone else, Aditya and Richa are best friends. He knows her the most. So naturally, many rumours built around them. But when Aditya announced their relationship with Varsha, Richa felt a bit sad. Not because of any other things. She felt that he should have told her first before telling anyone else. After two days of her being sulky and Aditya's coaxing, she became perfectly cheerful again.

         "Okay okay now stop laughing and let's go for lunch. They got this yummy chicken biryani in today's special", Swaroop told them licking his tongue.

       "And you guys ask me why would I tease him so much", said Aditya sarcastically.

       Days passed very quickly and the Reunion finally arrived. It was a pleasant evening. Richa chose her best to look fit for the occasion - a torn slim fit jeans with a floral printed short top. Pleased with her look she started from home.

       "Have a great time Richu. Message me once you reach there and drive safely", her dad told.

       "Yeah, dad. Bye mom", Richa reached the restaurant. It was easy finding the hall due to the signs everywhere saying 'Reunion - 2015batch'. She entered the hall and there was already so many of her classmates.

       There was a pat on her shoulder and Richa turned to see who it was.

       "Hey, Richa", screamed a girl excitedly.

       "Shilpa?", asked Richa for she was not sure. The only thing Richa ever denies is that she got a poor memory.

        "Of course, it is me. Who do you think? How are you? Where are you doing your graduation now?"

        "I am very good Shilpa", Thank God, Richa thought to herself. "I am doing my Engineering here in Hyderabad. What about you?"

        "Well, I am doing my MBBS abroad. I came here for vacation and guess what these guys organised a reunion perfectly during my stay. Great eh?"

        Vinod joined them asking if they need anything. Richa felt wonderful talking to old friends. At that time, John walked in with a handsome guy and took him near a table where all her schoolboys are talking. He is 6' feet with a well-built musculature. His defined facial features made him extra handsome. He wore a light turquoise shade of Mandarin collared shirt and a light grey pant with brown shoes.

         Who is this guy? He looks a bit familiar, Richa thought to herself. But he turned the other way and simply talked to them. Trying to remember who he is, Richa started to take selfies with some of her classmates. After some time, John came with that guy near her and asked "Hey Richa, remember who this is?". And no sooner she watched him closer than she remembered who he is exactly.

        "Oh" was her instant reaction. "Piyush", she told with no expression hiding her annoyance.

        "Richa", Piyush extended his hand saying 'Hi'. "It's good to see you", he told with a polite smile.
