Hello Fruitcups, what's up!
Mommy's back and as promised I will do my best to keep the smut running hot! Lol that sounds so wrong yet so right at the same time. I know it's a lot, but even more is coming after this 😉
Enjoy!Tyler was peeling potatoes as he watched Dallon grind up fresh lamb across the kitchen. His face seemed to be conflicted with something. Most likely what Sarah brought up. He was never one to say such things, but he was beginning to really hate her. It was bad enough she put him down but watching the look on Dallon's face made him want to march up to her room and demand she apologize otherwise he'd hit her.
Tyler wanted to say something to make it better. Anything just to get the usual stiff and formal tall bird he knew.
Dallon was lost in his thoughts of the past. The hurt, the betrayal, the loss. He was an excellent chef so even his cloudy mind couldn't stop him from producing a lovely meal. Especially for his Master and Canary. They were his family now and as such deserved only the best he could offer.
"Dallon, I'm done with the potatoes." Tyler said from his new position now directly behind him. His small hand placed on the other's shoulder blade. "You can talk to me if you need to. I mean we aren't the closest, but I still consider us friends. So what's wrong with me knowing there's a chef in the house. It's actually kinda cool." The small brunette tried to lighten the mood between them. Ever since the earlier thing, it's been like a wall now between them.
"Yeah...cool...could you please go boil those for me." Dallon didn't turn around. Just finished grinding the meat and moving on to chop the rest of the vegetables. He was trying his hardest to not snap on the boy, mainly because he didn't understand not everything needs to be shared. But he was smart enough to pick up on the hint to leave it alone.
Songbird frowned when he didn't look at him, sighing and doing as he was told. Since when did he care if he looked at him? Either way the tall man didn't and now he was sad. "Is there anything else I can do to help?" Tyler tried to be on his best behavior in order to hope Dallon would like him enough to confide in him. Or at the very least turn in his direction. The whole time they've been in the kitchen the tall man strategically looked past him in some shape or fashion.
"Start making the salad, everything you need is in the fridge." Still not even a tiny glance back at him.
Tyler was fed up when he didn't get a response. "Dallon will you please just look at me!"
Raven sighed as he slowly turned to him. His eyes full of anger, burning red at what Tyler didn't know but he didn't like the brush off treatment either. "What is there to look at Tyler, I have more important matters to attend to besides your constant need to be coddled!" He paused at the last word that left his lips. Tyler stood there stunned with his mouth hanging open. Shock and anguish in his eyes. "Tyler….I didn't mean that...I….." Dallon just sighed, turning back around. "I'm sorry, that was out of line and you didn't deserve that…. you're free to go back to your room if you wish." He went back to chomping the vegetables.
Tyler wanted to cry. Is that what he really thought of him? Some annoying little thing that needed around the clock validation? He sniffed back the tears, wiping a few stray ones and moved closer to him. Clearly Dallon was hurting and the lashing out was his way to get him to stop asking questions he obviously didn't want to answer. Otherwise the tall man wouldn't have just apologized.
Songbird came up behind Raven and held him tight in his arms. He didn't say a word, he really didn't know what to say. Just that he found himself liking Dallon and Josh as much as his former Mr. Wonderful. They were right saying it was his new family because he hadn't felt this close to so many people in a long time. And if Tyler learned anything from his mother was that you're supposed to love the ones who are hurting so that they can heal their wounds and not spread more hurt on others.
