She sighs and gets out of bed. Walking to her closet. She puts on a black circle skirt that falls to her knees with a red short sleeves shirt tucked into it. She ties her red Converse not wanting to wear sandals or heels. She looks in her full-length mirror. Maddi was pretty skinny so she looked pretty good in the high-waisted skirt. She lets her hair out of its bun. Its soft healthy wavy strands falling to her waist. She runs her fingers trying to brush them slightly. If she brushed it with a brush it wouldn't be as curly. She picks up her phone and checks the time. She was late. Shoot! She thought as she rushed to grab her bag and ran down the stairs. She passes her dad who says something about how Seth drove his car to school with Andrew. She smiles and grabs a granola bar as she runs out the door hopping into her car.
She turns it on and drives as fast as she can to school. After she got there she hurried to get to class but didn't see Zane. She had no idea where he was. Then she looked over and saw Sabrina and her friends were sitting next to her. She noticed that Sabrina was looking at her talking to her group of friends and they started to laugh again. She knew that if Zane was here she wouldn't do that but Zane was nowhere in sight. She sat in class wishing he was here but he didn't come. After the first half of the classes was lunch, that's when she was able to talk to Zane or at least try to but again he wasn't there. When she saw Sabrina walking over, she knew she was going to be a jerk to her, so she pretended to not notice her by talking to Opal. But there was no use. She came over and interrupted Opal as she spoke. She started asking me questions on why I was dressed up so nice I couldn't lie. I told her it was because I wanted to look good in front of Zane. Sabrina started laughing at her and said: "Did you think that my boyfriend would date someone as ugly as you?" Sabrina laughs.Maddi's body fills with anger and she stands. "Why are you such a brat? Honestly, you don't have the right to be so cold towards me or anyone else. You absolutely disgust me." Sabrina gapes at her "What did you just say..?". Maddi laughs. "Oh, so you are deaf now..? Not surprised with all the things wrong with you." Maddi gives her a dirty look and turns on her heel, and walks away. Someone grabs her arms as she storms down the hall. She stops slightly before yanking away and continues walking. The person grabs her again and pulls her close, not letting her go. "Let me go." She says as she squirms. She hears his voice. "Calm down.." The person says. "Zane?" She says confused. "The one and only.." He replies. His voice is sweet and quiet, still just as thick with a Southern accent.
Zane turns her towards him. "Were you trying to impress me..?" He asks, smirking. "N-no. I just thought if I said I was she would leave me alone." It sounded convincing. Maddi had gotten pretty good at lying since...Ryan. She remembered that Sabrina had just bullied her and could tell any part of that to Zane she wouldn't have any chance to date him. He would think that she is the rude one because Sabrina is more believable. But that's when Zane went and hugged her saying that he was sorry Sabrina was so rude to her. Zane then said "If she does something like this to you again I will have to break up with her. I always knew she was rude but I hoped that by dating her I could change that." He looked so sad when he said that. She was happy they would break up but knowing why Zane was dating her in the first place made her sad that she might be the cause of their break up.
Maddi sighs. "You shouldn't break up with her because of me. If you love Sabrina then be with her. Also don't think I like you by wanting you to be happy. I want everyone to be happy." She shrugs with this and backs up slightly. "You should probably go. You don't want Sabrina to be mad." Zane nods and starts walking backward. "Bye Maddi." He then jogs off leaving Maddi. She slumps slightly. He knows my name..? She just shrugs and walks down the hall to the Girls Bathroom. She sighs and looks in the mirror. Everyone said she looked like her mom but she didn't know she only saw her mom in pictures. She takes a deep breath. Why does the world hate me? Why are so many bad things happening to me...? First mom..then Ryan...and now bullying. The boy she thinks she likes is dating her bully. Suddenly a thought pops into her head. Why does Sabrina bully anyway? The thought puzzled her.
She looks at herself in the mirror again and tilts her head. "Hmm?" She says as she inspects her reflection. She tilts her body slightly so you can see her from a side view. She tugs on her hair by her waist. Her thoughts went to the night her Dad told her what had happened to her Mom. Her Mom ran off with her boss when Maddi was merely 3. She sighs and slumps her shoulders slightly. She looks at her reflection again and glares at her outfit. Why did I wear this stupid skirt anyway..? She shakes her head and wipes her eyes. She walks out of the bathroom when someone presses her against the wall. She grunts slightly and looks up and sees the dark eyes of Ryan. "Let me go." She breathes out angrily.
Ryan grins. "Why would I let a beautiful girl go.." His voice was soft and husky. Maddi grunts and pushes him away. "I said let me go, Cheater!" She starts to run the other way but he grabs her hand and pulls her back. "And I said no." He snakes his arm around her waist and pulls her closer. She lets out a hiss of air and starts to squirm. Ryan holds her as still as he can but Maddi knees him right in between the legs. He grunts and lets go and she quickly runs away. She slows down and walks into the Lunchroom trying to act normal. Opal looked up, "Maddi-!" She waved Maddi over to the table and1125 words~ <3
