"ring, ring"

"ring, ring"

Johannes almost spat out his water at the sound of the phone. It had taken longer than he'd hoped, but finally it was happening. Scrambling over to his desk, he seized the phone. A smile creaked across his face as he saw who it was from.

Leaning into his shoulder, he held the button down on a small microphone that was clipped onto his collar.

"Cole, get in here now! He's on the phone, I want this entire conversation recorded. Get me agents working on a location as well!" he firmly ordered. A crackly 'yes sir!' came through the radio before going silent. Johannes grasped the phone and immediately held it up to his head.

"Hello Fischer. Made up your mind yet?"

"Fifty one point four four degrees north, six point zero degrees east. Those coordinates. Two days from now,"

Johannes had to do a double take at his request, "Sorry?"

"You heard me. You want Ko? Rhine region. Two days. But first I need to know the Mira is alright," Fischer growled.

"Fischer I already told you, she's fi-"

"I don't give a shit about what you told me! I need to know myself that she's ok! If I don't hear from her in the next thirty seconds, you're not getting Ko ever. Period."

Johannes let out a slight sigh as he pondered his request. He was proving to be a stubborn adversary.

"Fine. I'll see what I can do. Wait here."

"Oh I'm not going anywhere."

A small chuckle escaped Johannes's mouth as he exited the room.

"What's going on?" Ko question with a slight raise in her tone. Fischer held his hand over the phone to prevent any sound being heard.

"They're getting Mira. I hope. They better be. Anyway I need you to just stay quiet for now ok? I'm willing to bet money that this call is being recorded. They're probably tracking our location as well, so as soon as this is done, we're ditching the phone," he explained.

She nodded sheepishly, and a small gulp slid it's way down her throat as they both stood there.

A few minutes passed before the other end of the phone crackled to life.

"Fischer? You've got three minutes and counting. Go."

From across the line, Fischer heard the slight sound of one of the agents ordering the others to 'let her breath'. His fists ran white with anger as he imagined what that actually meant.

Finally though, Mira's voice rang through the phone.

"Fischer?" She croaked, her voice parched and weary.

"Mira! Oh thank fuck. Are you ok? Are you hurt at all?" he fretted, clutching the phone with two hands.

She coughed slightly before letting out a croaky response.

"Yea. Yea I'm alright, they haven't done anything to me yet, what about you two?"

"Yea, we're shaken but we're holding together. Look I don't want to say too much because this is probably going to be recorded so just sit tight, we're going to get you out of there."

"Fischer, you need to know something-" she was cut off by Fischer's repeated words of reassurance.

"Mira it's ok, I promise we'll get you out-"
