Chapter 18: Break free

"Are you insane?" Mina said, trying so hard not to shout because of Chaeyoung's sudden request.

"Please Mina, i want to go with you. I won't be a headache, i promise!" Chaeyoung said pleading to Mina.

This is dangerous and dumb in all sorts of level, and Mina is all aware of that.

"You're already being a headache." Mina said as she shook her head of disagreement.

It's already hard to escape alone, and now that Chaeyoung wants to tag along makes it even more difficult.

"Please Mina.. let me come." Chaeyoung is not stopping and really wants to tag along with Mina. While Chaeyoung is pleading and keep bugging Mina.. something caught her eye.

And it's terrible.

"Oh shoot!"

Mina jolted as she saw a guard towards them, she knows that if that guard reach the spot their hiding at she won't have a chance to leave the palace.

She scanned and studied how the guards' guarding pattern is and she knows that the guard who's approaching them is the guard who'll stay on the same spot.

It'll take the whole freaking night until that guard move from it's place, and Mina doesn't want to spend the night with Chaeyoung cramping on a bush. No, never.

"Argh! just come with me." Mina groaned, having no choice but to drag the latter with her, it's now or never. She needs to get away before that guard comes.

Chaeyoung was shock and is now being dragged by Mina, they hid behind a tree and transferring from another then suddenly Mina stopped dragging chaeyoung.

"Wear this." Mina removed an extra cloth that she's wearing and she handed it out to Chaeyoung, it'll help to hide the latter's face. The cloth made only Chaeyoung's eyes visible from anyone's sight.

"This area is kinda bright, we don't want any guards to spot you. I'll be in big trouble." Mina said and sighed, Chaeyoung followed Mina's orders like a good kid. As mina continued to lead the latter.

Luckily, they are no guards at the exit and they swiftly went through. Mina really studied the pattern on when will the guards come and where they stand the whole time.

When they successfully went out of the palace, it's when the guards starts to roam around.

The guards are not that many anymore, maybe because Mina was hired by the king and maybe he's assure that Chaeyoung couldn't escape from Mina's guard, but little did the king know that Mina herself is the one who will help Chaeyoung escape the boarders.

"Woah!" Chaeyoung exclaimed as she saw the night lights all over the kingdom. Never in her life she'd seen such thing. She was taken aback, her feelings bursts but in a good way.

Then Mina came to realization.

"Oh yeah, it's your first time here." Mina said as she looked at Chaeyoung.

She got stunned by how the latter appreciate the simple night lights.

Chaeyoung got out from the boarders when she has to meet Sana, but she barely saw anything since they're riding a carriage, and they took a different route and it's day time.

"They look like.. stars."

Chaeyoung's eyes shined brighter than the stars. Very mpressed by the lights she's seeing. Those are the lamps that's keeping the village lit up at night, it has yellow lights just like the stars in the dark night sky.

"Let's go know my lady, we can't waste no time. We need to get back fast too." Mina said and Chaeyoung understood the situation, as she promised not to be a headache for Mina. So she followed whatever Mina told her to.
