The sudden click of a latch startled you into standing, dragging his weight upward as well by the hand that was already in your hold. Being caught languishing in the corner was not a particularly strength-emanating position. It was a much better idea to be upright and alert when first introduced to the enemy.
The heavy hatch swung open for two women to enter. Once they were fully inside, it shut behind them with a deep reverberation.
"Well, I'll be damned. They actually got the little brats."
The one who'd spoken was tall and bulky like a boxer. Her dark violet hair hung in waves from a fastened band placed at the back of her head. A bright yellow tactical jumpsuit was unzipped and tied around her waist using the sleeves. Underneath, a plain white tank top exposed the developed muscle of her arms that were now crossed over her chest.
She cocked an eyebrow, seemingly surprised that whoever had captured you two had succeeded.
"They're thinner than I imagined them to be, right Aguni?"
Whether or not the weightless insult was intended to be rude, you ignored it and shifted your focus to the one who'd been addressed.
She was shorter and more petite. Her long, straight hair was smooth and black, the color matching that of her jeans and the shirt she wore under a muted-red leather jacket.
Her facial expression was unlike her partner's. In contrast, this individual appeared more serious and thoughtful. Though near neutral, there was a subtle intrigue to her gaze, like she was already beginning the process of prisoner analysis.
She spoke with suspicion, "Don't underestimate them, Genji."
Their names were information to be remembered, assuming they were even real, but they weren't helpful in themselves.
"Tell us what's going on," Todoroki commanded from your left.
His voice was authoritative, but the adversaries were unphased. They must've had reason to be so confident, and that made you nervous.
"Sorry, kid," Genji started. "I'm not here to reveal the boss's plans unless directly ordered. That's a quick method to being permanently silenced."
It became apparent that the newcomers weren't in charge. There was someone above them in the hierarchy, someone whom they feared.
"So, why are you here then?" you prompted in an attempt to gain insight.
"To check up on you, see if you've decided on a piss corner yet."
She chuckled at her own vulgar joke.
"If it's of any importance, I do have to go. If I can't leave, I'm choosing the one behind you," you forewarned, nodding in the direction you'd referred to.
"There's no need. I may be here to supervise, but I'm not cleaning your shit up. Come with us."
She didn't explain or wait for a response, instead, turning to lead the way out. You glanced at Todoroki. He had a scowl on his face, and it was clear he didn't want to move, but after watching you follow, he reluctantly did the same.
Immediately outside was a long hallway lined with many other uniform doors, none of which were open or had windows to peek into. The same type of light fixture you'd become familiar with illuminated the area. The interior was all similar to the chamber you'd been in before. It was a cement fortress.
The speechless walk came to an end when the group arrived at a bathroom.
"I'll take the girl first. Then, you can handle the boy," Genji directed.
