Chapter 4 - Nightmares

(Ashley's Dream and her POV)

"I just don't want this Ian, I don't want to be with a cheater." I said honestly, my eyes pouring out tears.

"But I love you, I still want to be with you, I'm sorry!" he said pleading with me.

"No, Ian! I'm breaking up with you, now please, leave!" I said for the third time.

Ian's expression changed. Before, it was sweet and pleading, the Ian I thought I knew, now, it was angry. "Well, If I can't have you, no one can!" he said as he lurched for me, slamming my back into the wall. I could feel the searing pain going through my back. I screamed.

"Stop it Ian! What are you doing?!" I yelled through tears. I was so scared.

"I told you," he said as he slammed my wrist into the wall, "If I can't have you, no one can!" he growled through his teeth, now bending my wrist back, painfully breaking it. He slapped me across the face and threw me to the floor, spitting on my face. I didn't know how much longer I could take this. Ian was very strong, and he was not trying to be very gentle, at all!

Ian started kicking me repeatedly in the stomach, making me gasp and double over in pain. (end dream)

 

I jolted awake screaming as two warm, comforting arms wrapped around me. I turned to see Matt, and I hugged him tight, still crying, but now the tears were of pure happiness because I was now safe.

I wrapped my arms and legs around him and placed my head on his warm chest. My body had immediately calmed down in reaction to Matt. I always felt safe, calm, and comforted in his arms.

"I got you, Precious, you're ok." He cooed reassuringly as he kissed my forehead.

I looked up at him and thanked God that I had him. I could honestly never live without him. I was absolutely the luckiest girl in the entire world.

He looked back at me, safety in his eyes, and started wiping my tears away with his fingers. I knew he was upset on the inside and just not showing it. Matt knew about Ian and what he did to me. Whenever I screamed awake he immediately knew that I had been dreaming of that scum bag!

"Jeez Matt, how did I get someone like you?" I chocked out through sobs.

"Um, I don't know, guess you're just that lucky." He said sarcastically and I laughed lightly. He would never understand how lucky I truly felt to have someone like him always there for me.

"Good night Matty." I said snuggling closer to him to find the reassurance in his arms.

"Good night Precious." He replied, taking all my nightmares away with him. I fell asleep shortly after that.

I woke up the next morning very happy and comforted. I turned to see that I was still cuddled up next to Matt and he still had his arms around me. I was so glad he had come in last night, my God, he was just the sweetest by in the world!
