The second the question appeared in my mind, the bell rang, signaling the end of Chemistry . . . typical.
I whipped my head to the back of the room to look for Matt, but was disappointed to find that he was nowhere in sight. I did, however, happen to see Chris. I made my way back to him. “Hey Chris, do you know where Matt went?” I asked, twisting my head around in different directions to continue my search for him.
“Nah, sorry Ash. He zipped out of here so fast, I swear it would put Captain America to shame.”
I laughed internally. “Oh, well thanks Chris, but, Superman’s better!” I yelled over my shoulder, as I ran, making my way to the cafeteria for lunch.
I entered the lunch room and saw over one-thousand boys there. I guess that they split the lunch periods into two different times. Made sense, I don’t know who could handle one-thousand crazy boys, let alone two-thousand.
The cafeteria opened from double, two-way doors into a very large room full of light green, plastic tables. There had to be over 150 of them, cuz they were everywhere! Instead of having chairs, there were picnic style seating, that were twice as big as a regular picnic table.
On the far side of the room were two large buffet style aisles about thirty feet long each and had five registers at the end. In the corners of the room were a few vending machines, water fountains, and trash cans, so this was the typical lunch room set up . . . but the atmosphere was something else.
Boys all over were throwing things, laughing, shouting, dancing on tables, and inhaling food down like no other. It’s surprising what guys do when they don’t have a female to impress.
I scanned the room for Matt, but didn’t see him anywhere. I sighed and made my way over to where I had seen Kyle, Nick, and Chris taking a seat.
“Hey Hotness! Whassup?” Nick asked me, smiling his rear end off.
