Midnight arrived. The sun had fallen long ago and had been replaced by the shining moon, which illuminated the blue sky with its shimming light. It was quite cold, the wind was blowing, moving the trees' leaves. Grasshoppers' chirping sound filled the surroundings. These natural noises formed a tranquilizing melody, an eternal peace could build up inside anyone who heard it.

However, this did not apply to Lumine, whose dreams had turned into a horrifying nightmare. Memories of the time when her dear brother was taken away by that unknown god flooded her mind, tormenting her. She hadn't been able to do anything. She should have saved him, she tried, but she couldn't. Her chest contorted in guilt; it should have been her. Who knew what her brother was going through? Maybe he wasn't even alive anymore. Maybe he was being tortured. 

The scene transformed. She was now falling through an endless darkness, a hole with no end, when would she hit the ground? the girl didn't have time to think about it, her body hit against a cold surface, pain erupting in her arms, legs and torso. A white, bright light appeared in front of her. She used every bit of strength her trembling figure had left. Her golden eyes widened when she saw her brother looking at her with an emotionless expression. She began walking towards him, limping every then and there. Lumine stopped dead when the boy turned around and started walking away, the bright light behind him slowly consuming him. She picked up her pace, desperate. She opened her mouth to shout, but no words came out. Her knees gave up on her as she fell to the ground. She extended an arm, unable to reach him. He stopped on his tracks and slightly turned his head to look at her. 

"You've come too late." He glared at her before completely disappearing.

She gasped as her eyes filled with tears, which soon began streaming down her face. Hiccups escaped her lips. 

Suddenly, she was pulled out of her sleep by someone shaking her and screaming her name. She let out a loud gasp as she abruptly sat up and desperately looked around, still not fully awake. Her breathing was uneven and loud. Her heart was beating way too fast. She felt as if she could pass away at any given moment.

"Lumine! Hey, Lumine!" a distant voice yelled. "It's me, Amber. Can you hear me?" The voice sounded closer now.

"A-amber?" the traveler asked, slowly becoming aware of where she was.

She remembered. Her and Amber had been assigned to go on a special mission and had settled down once night came. They had decided they should go to sleep, so they lit a fire, laid on the soft grass and covered their bodies with some blankets. 

"Lumine?" the brunette called once again; her amber eyes bright with concern. The blonde girl looked at her for some seconds, trying to pull herself together.

"I-I'm sorry, I just...had a nightmare. Sorry I woke you up..." She finally said, wiping her tears away. Amber furrowed her eyebrows.

"No need to apologize, we all have nightmares every now and then. Even though yours seemed to be a bit...extreme. Want to talk about it?"

"No...it's okay." Lumine said as she adverted her gaze. Sadness swimming in her eyes, thing that didn't go unnoticed by Amber, who grabbed the girl's face gently and forced her to look at her.
