(Abigail POV)
I looked around my new home. It was a small apartment with only three rooms, the main room - it had a singular worn out sofa, an old tv as a living room and a kitchen (I personally wouldn't call it a kitchen as it only had a mini fridge, a microwave oven and a singular counter. The only sink was in the bathroom), a bedroom that could only fit one bed and - of course - the bathroom.I sighed to myself. "Why did they have to kick me out", I thought aloud. "I get that they were shocked, but I am all alone, with a minimum paying job in New York. And to make things worse, I am nine months pregnant".
I sat on the worn, ripped couch and looked out the window.
'If only I didn't go to that party', I thought. 'Well, at least I get to take my maternity leave soon. I really hope that I can get a bus to the hospital because I for sure cannot pay for an ambulance or taxi'.
My train of thought was cut off by a knocking at the door.
(No POV)
As Abigail slowly got up and walked toward the door, she could hear a voice calling in."Hello? Is anybody home? We just want to welcome you to the building", it said.
Abigail opened the door to reveal three people, two women and one man. The first woman had long dark brown hair, and emerald green eyes. She was
"Hello dear", one of the women said. "My name is Margo" she pointed at the woman beside her. "That is Geraldine, and this.." she pointed towards the man. "Is Akira. We live across the hall and wanted to get to know our new neighbour."
"Hi my name is Abigail and please, do come in" Abigail said standing back to let the three in.
"Just asking", Akira said. "Do you happen to have any beer? There is a football match starting in a few minutes and my friend said that it is going to be the best game of the season!"
"Akira!", Margo yelled. "Look at the girl. Why would you think an underage, pregnant woman would have alcohol? Also you shouldn't even be drinking! You are only 18"
Abigail laughed. "No I don't have any beer but you are welcome to watch the tv" she replied smiling politely.
"This might sound a bit weird but what age are you?" Geraldine asked. "Because you look around the age of Akira but you are pregnant"
"Well I am only 16" Abigail said nervously.
She didn't want to lie but then again, she didn't really want to be judged either.
"Sixteen?!" Akira exclaimed.
"Akira, will you stop yelling at the poor girl" Margo scolded. "She cannot take the stress. It's bad for the baby. Now dear.." she turned towards Abigail. "Do you want me to help you with anything?"
"No I'll be fine" Abigail answered. 'These people seem nice' she thought. 'At least I know that the neighbours are fun' she smiled.
———————-time skip———————
"My goodness, is it 6pm already?" Geraldine said shocked. "Time does fly when you are having fun."
"Well, we better head home to make dinner" said Margo. "Are you coming Akira?"
"I am just going to stay until the end of the baseball game" Akira called, keeping his eyes glued to the television."Akira that's not baseball" Margo said, glancing over at the tv. "That's a tennis match"
"Huh??" Akira said staring stupidly at the screen. "But I thought that it was baseball because they were hitting a ball" margo face palmed.
