Rubellite's POV

I ran and ran for miles until i spotted an odd looking structure far off in the distance, it looked to be a facility of some sort. I got close to it enough to use my binocular vision when i saw gems walking about in it, the buildings looked so weird, a thing sat ontop of one that resembled a mill i've seen here in earth a long time ago..

'Since when did non quartz gems allowed to roam earth?'

But the thing jasper said came to mind, how its literally been thousands of years since my last task so maybe things did change in my abscense. A pain shot through my gem as i try to remember how i ended up in some bush anyway so i decided it would be best to not try anymore.

Though that didn't really matter now, everything from my purpose to my memories has been wiped clean. The only thing that remained was the task i accquired from my diamond to go to earth and check status on jaspers since they were said to be 'mishapen' from being produced half-heartedly.

I still had no idea what i was going to do with myself, i mean i'm just a stray rubellite wandering around now.... how pitiful, i used to be an aristocratic gem back in homeworld. Both designed for research and battle but even that i dont know anything about now maybe i should just give it all up...

"Ugh...." my legs felt like giving out from how long i've been running around. Good thing somethings never change though, jaspers attitude serves one of it. Jasper... some jaspers didn't act like the one i just met, they were much down to earth and carefree. sure some were stubborn but thats because they were originally made to be soldiers...wait, soldiers for what??

Nevermind... it would take billions of light years to figure things out, standing around doing nothing. Better think while walking. "Hey! Who are you?" A voice shook me out of my thoughts.

I looked up to see "uhh" nothing.

"Hehe,down here" the voice said, i looked down and saw a small purple amethyst.....worker? Wearing weird articles on clothing...

"Such a small quartz! Excuse me but are you perhaps from homeworld?" I said, eyeing the gem below me i saw a blush spread on her face and said "uhhh no i came here from earth! Cut-8XM" the amethyst rubbed the back of her neck, clearly shy about the being small topic.

"From beta kindergarten? Wait no, it must've been prime wasn't it?" I said smiling, she nodded "Oh wait! My names rube short for rubellite.." i crouch and reached my hand out for the amethyst to take, she took it though a bit uncomfortable with the handshake.

"A rubellite huh? I've never seen one before, last i heard they were extinct!" Amethyst 8XM's eyes were practically gleeming with stars, "..." my eyes went wide hearing her words, suddenly losing my entheausiasm as i bring my head down "oh um sorry i didn't mean it that way i just..." i sat down on a rock and sighed, "no, its fine" 8xm still looked guilty so i patted the spot next to me.

8xm jumped up and sat beside me, avoiding my gaze "so uh where are you from?" She cut the unbearable silence with a question before looking at me sheepishly, my head still down "im...from homeworld, i was the first cut of rubellite ever made by my diamond back in era 1..." my words seemed to have shocked her greatly causing her to squeak loudly "wait WHAT?! FIRST CUT?! COOL!" her shout literally echoed throughout the surrounding area, birds and critters moved away from the loud outburst.

"Yeah,Oh right...its probably era 5 or something by now though, sorry" i laughed sadly, staring out in the distance. seems like the sun was getting ready to set in this sector of region since the light of the big star was beginning to disappear. This moment was wistful, perfect for a lost soul like me.

"No dude its era 3, how come you didn't know? It was like, literally broadcasted throughout the universe.." 8xm said confused, motioning her arms to spread like imitating a whole galaxy.

"um...well, thats..." i giggled nervously as sweat dropped from the side of my forehead. "I kinda got stuck under some heavy rock for a while until some jasper found me, hehe" i smiled recalling the moment i first met eyes with the brutal yet beautiful quartz soldier, for some reason my chest began to pound and i was startled but tried my best to to hide it from 8xm. 'Feelings' as humans call it, are prohibited in homeworld after all..

"Whaaaat, which jasper? The skinny one or the big mean one?" 8xm pushed, i felt heat come up my cheeks "the big one..." i said shyly, leaving out the mean part.

'8xm must've known jasper since their technically the closest relatives, both made in earth..'

8xm couldn't believe her ears, she squeaked again and said "No waaaay dude, that sis of mine would've shattered you at first sight!" She joked, punching my arm lightly "well she kinda did want to.." i recall the time i mind controlled her and thought it was only fair that i deserved it, i sweat dropped once again at the memory.

"What did you do to escape? Oooh im getting curious!" 8xm's attitude changed from wary to energetic, laughing and prying me to 'spill the beans'
she calls it. "Well, it really wasn't that interesting i just ran away is all.." i half lied, scrunching my fingers up slightly but not enough for 8xm to see.

'I cant trust her yet..'
