I Opened the car door, stepping out of it. I had just been in the longest car ride of my life. 48 Hours of sitting, Minimal bathroom breaks, and 6 snacks. I was starving. I Hadn’t eaten in 6 hours. I grabbed my duffle bag and went toward the front door. The house was huge! This was nothing like my old house. This house was white and mainly glass, Except for what I guessed were bathrooms and bedrooms which had real walls. The glass frames were black. The whole design of the house was black in white.

My mother spoke, startling me “Do you like it?” I turned to look at her swiftly “WHAT?! IT’S HUGE SINCE WHEN DO WE HAVE MONEY FOR THIS??” She laughed “Darling we always have had money for this.” I ignored that. Even though I was confused. I needed to know how the inside looked. My mother opened the front door and Right on the inside was a staircase. It was black, I was guessing metal. I looked to my left to see a huge living room. I walked in the room. The couch was white and so much sunlight hit every glass side table perfectly. There was a big Tv on the wall right next to the staircase, I’d have to say the Tv was at least 73 inches. I plopped my bright red duffle bag down on the left side of the couch which was on the far left side against the glass wall.

I moved to the far right where there was a dining table for 8. The table was glass and had black frames and the chairs were white. The room was maybe 15 feet long. After that was a huge kitchen in the back that connected to the living room and the dining room. It was black and white counters and had cabinets all over. There was a professional coffee maker and The fridge could generate any drink you wanted by just pressing a button and saying what you wanted. The stove was the same too, but with food. I looked at my mom “Can I still cook food??” She laughed “Of course.” I mentioned “Hey I feel like I’m in a star trek movie with the food and drink generator.” My mother Smiled “Peldor Joi.” I was confused. “Mother… What?” She still had a huge smile on “You have much to learn about my child.” She swept her hand over her face and I suddenly saw bumpy lines on her nose, Sort of like Scales that were together in rectangle form. I thought it looked familiar. The Bajoran nose!! It took me a second to process that I just saw my mother do some sort of magic. “Mom… You have a Bajoran nose.” She was still smiling “Yes I know.” “Why.” I replied. “That’s for you to figure out.” I felt dizzy. I went around the living room and up the stairs claiming a room to be mine. I Didn’t care what I saw. I just needed to lay down. I plopped on the bed face forward.

I woke up to my stomach growling. I grabbed my stomach in pain and got up. It took a few minutes for yesterday's events to kick in. I couldn’t believe my mom was Bajoran- Or something like that…  I Asked the generator thingie to make me Some cereal. While I ate my breakfast I pulled out my phone and searched up “Pelder Joy Bajoran language”  I got results, It was spelled “Pelder Joi” and meant Greetings, it was apparently used during the Gratitude Festival In one of the star trek series. Could Star trek be real? My mother walked down stairs and said “Pelder Joi” I responded “Pelder joi to you too.” She looked shocked. “How did you learn what I said so fast?” I smirked “Internet, It tells you everything.” She snatched my phone and powered it off, I Jumped up trying to grab it which resulted in my cereal bowl falling over. I yelled “Give it back mom!!” She simply said “Clean up the mess and come see me in the living room.” I grabbed some paper towels and cleaned the mess up.

When I was done I walked into the living room, still amazed by it’s beauty. I sat across from my mother and Acted like I wasn’t mad at her for taking my phone. She broke the silence saying “ You Have to learn about the Prophets.” I  Stared at her blankly, “The prophets?” She looked very disappointed in me. “You're supposed to be a fan of star trek.” I looked at her 10 times more confused. Then It hit me. I Said “ Ohhhh The prophets, what the bajoran believe in!” She smiled proudly that it had finally hit me what it was, Which made me a little more relaxed. I looked at her face and then saw the nose was still there. I asked “How come I don’t have a bajoran nose?” She pressed a chip thingy that was in her hand and I felt my nose, It had the same bumps as her on my nose. I was shocked. I suddenly felt dizzy, I got up trying to walk back into my room but the second I stood up I fell to the ground and blacked out.  I woke up in my room, where my red duffle bag had been placed on a chair in the corner of my room. I saw a book on my nightstand to the right of me. I picked it up. Just then I heard a voice “Time to study.” I looked up from the book and saw it was my mother. “What am I studying?” I then looked at the cover it said “The prophets”
