It's been 2 days since the heated argument happened. I've gotten somewhat close with all my brothers except Theo and Romano. Theo's always closed off and is mostly at work and Romano hasn't said a word to me since the argument. He does give me guilty looks here and there but doesn't say anything.
It's now Sunday and I was planning on going to church with Maya. I may not seem like the religious type because I kinda kill people for a living but when I was alone I had to find someone to talk to who I knew would be listening, so I turned to the big guy upstairs.
"Maya hurry up we're going to be late if you want to eat before we go." I put on a long lavender dress with a white cardigan on top. I don't normally wear dresses but I've gotta cover up somehow.

I walk into Mayas room and she's wearing a yellow flower dress with a white top underneath. "You ready?" I say jumping on her bed. "Hey get off, I just made that." She pushes me off her bed and re makes it. Bloody clean freak.
"Ye ye whatever common let's go." We run downstairs and are met with all my brothers except Theo in the living room. "Where are you girls going?"cameron says noticing us all dressed up. Normally we would stay in our pjs all day so I'm not surprised he noticed.
"Church." I say bluntly. They all look at me expecting to say that I was joking but when I stay silent they all burst out into laughter. Why is it so hard to believe that I'm a Christian girl. Oh right assassin. "Y-you go t-to church?" Raven says in the middle of his laughs.
"Yes I go to church. I know we're assassins and all that shi- I mean stuff but i at least want to believe in something." I argue rolling my eyes waiting for them to stop their outburst. "Can I come?" Romano asks standing up. Huh?
"Huh?" Maya says confused. Bitch read my mind. "Can I come to church with you guys?" He says again. I still don't get it.
"Why?" I say crossing my arms. "Why not?" He shrugs putting his hands on his pockets. Good point.
"Fine. Your driving." I turn around to see Maya with a bowl of cereal she's already devoured. When did she get that? "I'm not even gonna ask." I take her bowl and place it in the sink as we start Making our way to the garage.
"Where's the nearest church?" I ask getting in the back seat. "It's about 30min away. Sit tight." I buckle my seat belt in and turn over to look at Maya eating a slice of toast. The hell?
She shrugs and offers me a bite which I humbly decline. By that I mean push her hand away which makes her toast fall onto the ground. Oops. "You bloody idiot! You just wasted a perfectly good slice of toast." She says hitting me on the shoulder. "Oh right I have another one." She reaches into her bag and pulls out another slice of toast. "God help me." I say under my breath pinching the bridge of my nose.
I look out the window and see two big black vans behind us. "Hey Romano. How long have those vans been behind us?" He looks out the review mirror and his face suddenly drops. "We're being followed." He says hitting the steering wheel. Can a girl not be a good Christian for a day without trying to get killed. Obviously not. Suddenly the sound of gun shots go around and the back glass shatters open. Bloody fantastic.
"GET DOWN!" Romano yells pulling out a gun from his pocket. Was this guy really going to bring a weapon to the house of the lord. Utterly Despicable. I pull out a gun from my thigh strap and stand up out of the cars skylight and start shooting at the vans behind us. Maya grabs her knife and throws them at the tires instantly bursting them. "I guess we're going to have to reschedule our visit today God." I look up to the sky still blowing the heads off of the van drivers and sigh.
Suddenly a small green object lands on the seat next to me and started to beep. Shit. "grenade!!" I yell opening the car door pushing both Maya and Romano out before jumping out myself. "Run!!" Maya says with her pice of toast still in her mouth. Suddenly I trip over a shard of glass on the ground and fall flat on my face. This day really isn't going well for me.
"Vixen!" Romano runs towards me and covers my body with his just as the car explodes. Once the impact had occurred, he stands over me frantically checking for any damage left on me from the explosion. "Adelfí?" He turns me over holding my face in his hands. (Sister)
"Common Vixen...you can't die on me. I- I'm sorry for the way I treated you. I was just scared that you wouldn't like me because of my disorder so I pushed you away before you could abandon me. eímai tóso ilíthios." He says the latest sentence pulling my head towards his neck. God I'm an awful person. I couldn't hold in my laughter any longer so I just burst out laughing. "I'm so sorry Romano. I- I just wanted to see what you would do." I say in between my fits of laughter. (I am such an idiot)
"Aww my big brother has a soft spot for me after all. Come here." I reach out to hug him but he backs away with a huge frown on his face. That's when I start laughing even more than I am. "You are a terrible person vixen sandiéz I hope you know that." He says walking towards Maya.
"Aww common big bro don't walk away from your little Adelfí." I stand up chasing after him with my arms out wide. "I take back everything I said, I really do hate you." He frowns taking his phone out of his blazer to call Theo I'm guessing.
"Nope can't take it back you already said it." I run up to him jumping on his back hanging onto him like a koala. "Get off me you idiot!" He tries staking me off but I'm still hanging onto him like my whole life depended on it. I turn around to see Maya laughing her head off and filming the whole thing.
"NEVER!!" I scream into him ear causing him to wince. "How are you guys so calm? We just got shot at and the car literally just exploded." He asks giving up on trying to pry me off of him.
"We're used to it. This kinda thing has happened a gazillion times honestly. . . Wait why are you so calm? and why did you have a gun on you?" I ask jumping off of him to face him. How did I just realise all of this? "Well you see uhh. . . You should ask Theo." He says speed walking away toward the black car that just pulled up. I swear on chocolate that I will find out what my brothers are hiding sooner or later.
———————- Ok that's all for this chapter. Sorry it was shorter than the others but I just want to hurry up and get to the juicy bits for you beautiful people. I have big plans for this book and most of them include heartbreak and death so be prepared. There are many more characters Ming into the mix so that's something to look forward to also.
