if it all came crashing down,
would you be there to hold my hand?
If fire spread around us all,
would you be there to put it out?
If I were to fall off the tallest building,
would you be there with a life net?
And if I were to go first,
would you follow me?

And so, Ron and Adelaide collected the things they needed to head down into the Chamber of Secrets with instructions to get the basilisk fangs, destroy the Horcrux (but Adelaide didn't know exactly what Hufflepuff's Cup was), and meet back at the Room of Requirement. They had to be discreet and hope for the best to get the Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, so once the two left, all Elara and Hermione could do was watch them on the Marauder's Map and hope they didn't get caught.

In an effort to distract herself from worrying about Adelaide, Elara hurried over to Lynn, who was just as eager to greet her as Elara was. "You're such a twat; you know that?" scoffed Lynn but still hugged back as Elara threw her arms around her, laughing. "Here I was, thinking I'd get to have one more school year with my best mate, but she runs off in the middle of a wedding and doesn't turn up on the first day! I was so lonely!"

(For once, Hermione wasn't annoyed and smiled softly at the friend's reunion.)

"Well, I'm sorry I was off fighting the bloody darkest bastard in Wizarding history," chuckled Elara happily, hugging Lynn tighter. While she enjoyed Ron, Harry, and Hermione's presence for the last eight months, especially the latter's, but she had missed Lynn's embrace immensely. Lynn had always given great hugs. "And besides, you had other people here!" Elara added as she pulled back, looking around. "Look at everyone! You couldn't have been that lonely."

Lynn shrugged, stuffing her hands into her pockets as her eyes flickered across the room. More people were clambering through the portrait hole, some of which so far being Oliver Wood, Alicia Spinnet, Angelina Johnson, and Katie Bell. "I guess you're partially right," huffed Lynn, turning her head back to Elara, who chortled. "Shame the others aren't here, though. I'm sure they'd love to see you."

"'The others?'" repeated Elara, her voice befuddled, looking at everyone once again in confusion, briefly spotting Bill, Fleur, Mr. Weasley, and Mrs. Weasley coming out of the tunnel. "What do you mean? Is this not everyone?" she asked, as the room was quickly becoming crowded as more and more allies of the Order of the Phoenix turned up.

"You haven't heard?" queried Lynn with raised eyebrows, and Elara shook her head, mentally scolding Adelaide for not telling her more about what's happened at school. Lynn sighed, putting a genuine expression on her face with the smallest bit of surprise and mirth. "Nott, Greengrass, and Zabini joined the D.A," Lynn informed slowly as if it was a lot to take in, so she had to say it steadily.

It truly was. Her mouth falling open, Elara let out a swift breath of shock and glee, understanding the bit of the same emotions that had spread onto Lynn's features. "Salazar, oh my gosh, really?" asked Elara in disbelief for clarification, and Lynn nodded, beginning to smile at Elara's reaction. "Wow... that's honestly a little surprising..."

"They aren't here right now because the Slytherins are held to much higher expectations and are the new role models, so they're only able to be here less. But, they help when they can and communicate with the Slytherins and get information back to us. Murton got them to join," explained Lynn, seeming amused and mildly proud. "Parkinson was on the fence about it, but she couldn't, anyway. She's head-girl and would've been in much more trouble than any of us were if they found out she was banding with us."
