The Runner & The Glader(Newt x Reader)

2) Run.

~Y/n's POV~

      "Hey bubs, time to go." I heard Minho sigh as I got up but collapsing mid-way in excruciating pain from my cramps. "Goddamnit I'm so glad this shitty period ends today. I need the medjack first." I told Minho as he helped me up chucking altogether as he put me on his back carrying me there. As I was laid on the cot waiting for the pills I need I noticed a certain blonde up by the medical supplies, so me being me I stood somewhat doubled over walking to him. As I got to him I wrapped my arms around his waist burying my head in his neck scanning over his notes. "Love. Please not now. Get going so you can come back to me."I sighed giving him a small squeeze and headed back to Minho.

       "You ready bubs? I got the pills. Here. Come on we shouldn't be too long today." He smiled as I swallowed the pills walking out with Minho's arm around my shoulders. "When are you going to tell him?" He whispered into my ear once again chuckling. "Well I don't plan too. Maybe it's just not worth it. I'm sure he's too busy being second in command, plus we have to run and train the greenie...maybe we should bring him? The wall isn't open yet." I explained looking back up from the ground pointing to the wall realizing it hasn't opened at all. "Yeah let's ask Newt where he is." Minho grabbed my wrist lightly jogging back to the tent once more greeting Jeff and Clint.

      "Oh don't tell me the beautiful and amazing y/n has hurt herself already just cause she misses us?" Clint's laugh filled the tent as I smiled rolling my eyes and running to Newt. "Newt?" I whispered quietly scared of when he gets a tad angry. I heard him huff like someone had been interrupting him multiple times. "Yes y/n?" I gulped. "Do you know where the greenie is?" I simply asked controlling my voice to not make it wavier trying to be as confident as I can while I watched his actions come to halt. "Why must you need him?" His accent became thicker than normal as I believed he got more angry by the minute. I tried to focus on Minho talking to Jeff but realized it's just not worth it.

      "Well we wanted to train him since we don't have to go far today. The walls aren't open yet so we could bring him and most likely be back by noon." I once again tried to sound as confident as I could knowing this conversation shouldn't be taking this long. As Newt turned around and took a step closer to me his eyes were darker than normal. Jealousy. "I don't know where he is. Run the maze and do it a different day. Maybe have him take your place and go with Minho." With that he dismissed me as he went back to doing the things Alby has told him to do. I furrowed my eyebrows as I just wanted to know why he was so miserable this early but I walked away with regret wishing I hadn't.

      ~In the Maze~

      We've been in the maze for over three hours trying to find a way out ultimately failing as we ran for our lives being as we know we only had 5 minutes before those walls started to shut. If we don't run fast enough we might be stuck here. "MINHO!" I yelled as he was trailing hot on my feet. "YES?" He yelled out to me as I could hear the amusement in his voice as we saw the walls barely 50 feet away. "TALK TO ME!" I yelled once more as the walls began to shut. "IM RIGHT HERE! I GOT YOU!" He yelled to me soothing my nerves as I slid through the walls almost getting crushed falling onto the ground in front of everyone. The thing I didn't feel or hear was Minho falling on the ground let alone onto me.

      Gally pulled me off the ground harshly by accident as I felt the tears prick my eyes. I shoved Gally off of me as I looked around. I looked up, "where?" My eyes pricked once again with tears that I wouldn't let spill as no one answered me. "WHERE?!" I yelled in Gally's face as his eyebrows furrowed relaxed instantly as he saw movement behind me, his eyes widened. I whipped myself around seeing Minho get up off of the ground yelling the same thing. "Where?" He coughed as I walked over. "WHERE?" He yelled as he coughed once more from the dust in his lungs. I ran over, "I'm here bubs. I'm here." Collapsing on the ground we engulfed each other in a tight embrace trying not to get emotional. *cough* *cough* as we looked up Alby's expression was relieved as he asked to speak to us quickly.

      "Listen. You both have ran everyday. You risk your lives everyday for everyone here. No ones going in tomorrow. You understand?" Alby raised his eyebrows looking at the both of us as our mouths gaped open just nodding. I saw him walk away as I got up pulling the brunette with me as well. "Let's go." As he picked me up I saw Newt clenching his knife from the corner of my eye not sure what was happening with him as he walked over to the both of us. "You're a bloody traitor Minho. You knew!" His voice raised as my eyes grew tired not paying attention to what was happening. I felt the coldness of Minho's body leave my own as I was engulfed into a warm sweaty body. As I opened my eyes I saw Newt's beautiful golden locks with his muscular arms on display with a tank top.

      "Bloody hell." I mumbled. "What is it darling?" My eyebrows raised while I was in a hazy daze from the tiredness washing over my body. "Oh nothing. I'm just really tired." I tried smiling as something twists in my stomach remembering the events that happened before I left the maze making me nauseous. "Newt. Put me down, I can handle it. What did you say to Minho? Where is he? If yo-" I tried choking out of my dry throat. "Love. You've ran all day, please just let me carry you. You need to learn to relax. I'll show when we get back to my hut. I have to keep an eye on you for the night. Alby's orders. Minho is fine, he knew what I was talking about but I didn't touch him.  Maybe you should take a break from being a runner."
