With you best friend by your side, nothing can ever go wrong, unless your best friend is the reason it goes wrong in the first place. A betrayal like that leaves a mark, a red one.

Let me take you back to the first day I met this guy, and how I fell in love with him the first day I met him officially.

Ben Solo: Baseball Star, Popular with the Ladies, and Lit Genius.

It was 11th grade, I was in English Honors III and Ben sat a few seat ahead of me. He always answered questions in this class, but any other class, forget about it. He always had a book in hand or near it. It seemed like he just liked knowing it was there. I saw him reading under a tree a few time, but I never paid too much attention.

"Ms. Langford, Mr. Solo, Please see me after class" Mrs. Johnston asked. We both nodded and he looked back at me. This was the first time we ever made eye contact and I nearly keeled over, because his eyes were so honey brown, I wanted to just stare at them forever.

"Cassandra, this is Ben. I see you have been struggling with this class, and Ben is over excelling. I was hoping you both could team up, maybe have a study once a week" Mrs. Johnston suggested. I felt myself melt into the floor. Like I wanted to be stuck in the same room as Ben Solo.

"Oh I-Uh- I have stuff, I can catch up on my own. I don't want to bother Ben." I simply said. She shook her head. "I already talked to Ben and he said he had no problem helping you." She stated.

"It's no problem really. I don't mind. We can meet after school 2:30 at the cafe across the street." He said in his baritone voice, and a soft smile. "Uh- Yea- s-sure" I responded like a stuttering idiot. "Cool, see ya later, Cassandra" He smirked and walked off.

"Cool-" I said the looked at the teacher. "Dismissed" she stated and I walked out the door.

I felt blood rush to my face and all over my body. I wasn't sure what to think, just that I was going to study with the hottest, most popular guy in the school, and that I was totally unprepared for it.

Later that day the clock stuck 2, and I sighed knowing it was the end of the school day. I knew I was going to have to gather my things, and make my way over across the street. I didn't have friends and I was pretty alone for the most part.

I tried to make sure I didn't cause any scenes or be noticed. I liked being alone with myself and my music. I liked to write, and I liked to sing, I just never did anything with it.

I grabbed my books and shut my locker, I then felt a foot right in front of my legs causing me to trip over. It was Trevor and his goons on the football team. " Awe did Cassie fall?" he asked in a mocking tone. "Fuck off" I said and got up and picked up my books and left.

I made my way over tot he cafe when I heard a name calling me. "Cassandra" he yelled, it was Ben. "Hey" He huffed after running over to me.

"You ok? I saw you running out of the school" He asked in a tone that was almost considered to be of care.

"Just fine" I responded.

"Ok, well let us head over to the cafe, anything I can get for you? I see you around with their cup a lot so I figured you go there" He said with a sheepish smile on his face. "Cinnamon Latte" I responded. "See, with it being fall I would have guessed pumpkin" he made a small joke. I laughed a little. "Thats a bit stereotypical no?" I asked. He nodded. "You're right, but I like you're different.

The words stuck with me... I like you're different.

What did that even mean at the time? I glanced up at him as I felt his eyes on me, then his hand went in front of me saving me from a rogue biker. "Whoa there" he said to me. His arms were massive and longer than my torso.
