11. promises

A/N: hey there my lil yoai kittens, ... I have a surprise for you in this chapter so it will be rather short... but I promise you it will melt your sugar - coated hearts!

Marshall: I set Gumball down on his bed. He'd woken up a few times but drifted back to sleep in my arms. "Hey, gummybear,  come on... you gotta wake up now"  I have to wake him up. . . He's slipping away again..

Gumball: I slowly regained conciousness, and the first thing I fully heard was Marshall pleading with me to wake up. I tried to sit up but the pain in my head felt like a tonne of bricks weighing me down. I tried to speak but my mouth was dry. "M-Marshall . . ."

Marshall: "Gummy, oh thank glob!" I picked him up into a hug. "I'll never let anyone take you from me again... i'll never let anyone hurt you ever again, I promise"  i layed him back down gently. "Is there anything you need bubz? Let me take care of you.."

Gumball: I was so glad he was here. And the way he promised to take care of me is really sweet. But my mouth was unbareably dry. "W-water..."

Marshall: "i'll go grab you some water.  Just stay here & rest. But try to stay awake" i kissed his forehead & left to get the water. With my extra speed, I was back with the water withjn seconds. "Here bubba, drink this" he pushes himself upwards, trying to sit. Then he takes the cup & drinks it all without a breath.

Gumball: I gulp the water in one go, then gasp for air. "Thankyou Marshmallow."  I smile at him & he sits besides me, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. I snuggle into him & breath in his usual scent. "I love you"

Marshall: "I love you too gummybear... which is why,"  I stand up from our embrace, reach into my back pocket & pull out a small black velvet box, then I get down on one knee, right infront of gumball. "Prince Barnaby Gumball of the candy kindom, I would like to make a promise to you now... a promise to love you for the rest of my eternal life. I would like nothing more than for you to agree to marry me?"
