It had been eight years— eight long miserable years, but after all that you were permitted to leave the states. To leave and go back to your hometown.
You had just arrived at Inarizaki High School, the highschool that you had planned to enroll in alongside Rintaro, but that idea was scrapped many many years ago. When you had moved eight years ago, the first few months were alright. Everyday you would receive an 'I miss you!' or an 'I wish I could see you.' email, but one day you stopped receiving such emails. To be quite honest you had thought something happened to Suna at first. Spamming him with as many messages you could until one day, the email was invalid.
The years went by agonizingly slow, everyday you hoped to get just one email from him. It could say anything. "I hate you, stop trying to contact me, I don't miss you, anything!" You cry out, falling back onto your bed. Your hands falling to the mattress of your unmade bed in a clenched fist. "Fucking fuck you, Rinie." You mock your eight year old voice. You grit your teeth and stand up abruptly, your fists hanging by your sides. "Forget you, I can manage without you." You mumble and storm out of your dorm.
You walk toward the parking lot of the school where your mother waits for you. You approach the car and stop at the passenger door, waiting impatiently for her to roll down the window. Once she finally does you quickly reach in and grab the last of your belongings, looking back to see your mother awaiting your eyes with her teary ones. "Oh, (Y/N)..." She mutters before opening her car door. You meet her halfway and immediately she engulfs you in a hug, her intoxicating perfume hitting your sense of smell. I'm not gonna be smelling said perfume in a long time, I better take my time.
Once your mother got done hugging you to death, you pulled back and gave her a soft smile, "I'm gonna miss you a lot." You mumbled, looking up so that the tears that were threatening to fall wouldn't. "I'm going to miss you, (Y/N). I'll have you know that you're my pride and joy. I'm so very proud of you." She gave you one last hug, planting a soft kiss on your head and caressing your cheek. She turned back to the car and entered the driver's seat, smiling brightly at you and pulling out of her parking spot. Your mom drove off and you were left in the parking lot with all your belongings in hand. You turned back to the dormitory building and entered your dorm, setting all your things down along your bed and scanning your eyes over everything, making sure that you had everything you needed. "Let's get this show on the road."
-
After a long back-breaking session of making your dorm look somewhat presentable you grabbed your school bag and left the dormitory building, heading into the nearby high-school. Today was supposed to be your first day in the high-school but you had spent half of the day organizing and perfecting something that could've been done much later. Once you entered the school, your eyes scanned over the inside. Some walls were plain white, meanwhile some others were matte black. Usually a school would have the front office in the front of the building, but Inarizaki? No.
You had dreaded this moment the second you had stepped foot on the school grounds. You would have to ask a student for help. Your eyes skimmed over the halls as you speed-walked down them, searching for the first student you came across. You rounded the corner and to your surprise you saw two twins leaning against the lockers and chatting. You sigh to yourself and slowly approach the two, and quickly the chatter died down and they turned their attention to you. The attention causing your face to go hot. The twin with the honey blonde hair was quick to smirk and exchange an unreadable look with his twin. You stopped in front of the two of them and smiled, trying to seem as polite as possible.
"Would you two happen to know where the front desk is? I'm new here and I took to notice that the front office wasn't actually in the front." You look between them. They are tall for no reason. "Oh yeahhh," The blonde twin speaks first, "I don't know why our school is like that. New students tend to get confused about that all the time." He explains, that smirk not leaving his lips. "Turn left after you leave here, then make another left and it's on your left." He chuckles. "What's your name again?" The twin with grey hair suddenly speaks. You raise an eyebrow and turn to him, "Uh, it's (Y/N), (L/N) (Y/N)." You stammer. Both twins mouths fall slightly agape at the sound of your name. Did I say something wrong? Why are they looking at me like that?
