"Verity!"
The Bellova girl lets out a shriek as Fay calls her name, jumping out of the way as one of Fred and George's latest inventions comes hurtling towards her head. The two both rush over to her — each wearing their uniforms without their robes today, and it's hard to tell them apart — and apologize simultaneously. Verity brushes both off, shaking her head as she heads back to where she was standing beside Fay in the room of requirement, waiting for the DA's last lesson before Christmas to begin.
"You were totally out of it there...are you sure you're okay?" Fay squints her eyebrows worriedly. She's also in her uniform and there's her Gryffindor tie, which is strung neatly around her neck — Verity had discarded of hers after her last lesson of the day, and it now sat messily folded at the bottom of her rucksack. She pushes her hand into the pockets of her uniform's skirt, wishing she could get out of it already — for a school with so much money and magic, the uniforms were not all that soft and itched more than they were comfortable. It was a feat Verity could endure for one day, but spending the last five years in it had made the uniforms less bearable as time went on.
"It's fine, stop worrying so much. You have a mini heart attack every time I zone out," Verity rolls her eyes, opting not to meet Fay's eye. It had been a long week and Fay's constant nagging had only made things just a little bit harder for both girls — for how much Verity loved Fay, it was a little calming when she was away at Quidditch practice (following the disaster in the Quidditch stands between Pansy and Verity, she had quickly learned that whilst Pansy taunted Verity and Hermione, her ferret like counterpart had been bugging the twins and Harry to the point where George had gone to attack, only to get caught by Madam Hooch and sent to McGonagall — there, Umbridge had busted them and banned them from Quidditch for life, leaving Angelina to employ Fay from backup beater to the main team until that decision could be reversed. Since then, Fay had been practicing nonstop with the team to catch up to the level Fred and George were at).
