CHAPTER 5

The summer went pretty quick, I mostly decorated my room and wandered around Dublin and Trinity College Campus to see where I was going to be studying for the next two years. There are a few nice people on the same Art & Design course with me. My Auntie Mel is quite fun too, we've done lots together over summer. I really miss my mom and everyone, we've spoken almost every day, but I feel free not been there in that house with the man from hell. It really has been amazing escaping from him and getting my life sorted for college. Tomorrow is my first day and I've got to make sure I have everything I need....

I wake up the next morning I get startled by my alarm going off at 8am I put a mesh red top on with some black ripped jeans and red & black checkered Shoes I ran downstairs and in the kitchen is a note on the fridge from my aunt saying "Good luck on your first you can tell me all about it this evening over dinner." I grab a slice of toast and my bag to set off to College. I walked around the corner and my dad calls to wish me to luck and to have a good first day and I said thanks and I would call him later. I decided to stop at the coffee shop nearby and get some coffee. I get to College and as I'm heading to class (I wasn't watching where I was going) and bumped into somebody's muscular back I look up and see he had glasses on with a labcoat I thought he was the professor he helped me up and then i apologized for getting coffee all over his back and he said "Hi my name is Dexter Shaw but all my friends just call me Dex." "It's nice to meet you my name is Harlin-Skye." "He said that's a cool name, I hope I can be a part of your friend group." I laughed again and said "You never know, it's nice to meet you." He laughed "Your Welcome mate" and I smile and carry on walking to class and think to myself "The next two years are going to be the great".

I get to class and find a seat. At the front of the room there are two Professors standing smiling at us. Once we all get sorted they introduce themselves as Shana & Eli and they go through the introduction speech. Once they are finished Shana says "Today we want to you guys to show us your landscape techniques, just something nice and easy to start your journey here with us." We all get out our stuff and start drawing. "Hey it's nice to meet you I'm Ellie, This is Maddie we went to the same school." "It's great to meet you guys, I'm Harlin-Skye". We smile at eachother and continue with our art. Hours go by and I'm finally painting my canvas after drawing all the detail. "Everything down please guys, it's lunch time so we will finish off what we are doing afterwards." Eli tells us." We all pack up and head for lunch. "Hey can I come with you guys, I don't know anyone here?" I ask Maddie & Ellie. "Sure thing we are going to cafe around the corner." Ellie says and we head off.

On the way to the cafe the girls talk me through who Sam and Rebecca are. Apparently they are together but Sam sounds like a right ladies man. We get to the cafe and Sam and Rebecca are already sat down earing. "Hey guys we want to introduce you to Harlin-Skye, she's from Wetherby." Maddie tells them. "It's great to meet you guys, what's the best thing to eat here?" I ask with a smile as I sit down "Cheese and Ham Panini or the Chicken Cesar salad." Rebecca tells me "Mmm Chicken Cesar Salad is my fave." I tell them as I go to the counter to order. We all laugh and get to know eachother before heading back to college, I can't wait to finish my painting.

Back at college we get settled and I begin painting my canvas, the rest of the day goes fast and I can finally head home to relax.I get home and my Aunt is waiting for me in the livingroom, "So how was the first day?" She asks getting up to give me a hug. "It was great and some of the people on my course are great I've already got friends." I told her with a big smile on my face. "Well that's great sweetie, go and get changed I'm taking you out for dinner tonight." Aunt Mel tells me. After I get changed we go to our favourite restaurant and order our favourite meals. While we are eating I spot Dexter out of the corner of my eye. I smile and he smiles back "Who's that?" Asks Aunt Mel "That is Dex, I accidentally spilt my coffee on him this morning." I say laughing, after we finish eating and split the bill, we head home and get in our pj's for the evening and watch some tv before bed.
