Unfortunately I have not yet finished the next chapter for my other book yet, so I apologize for that, but I do have two really tiny pieces of literature that maybe someone will enjoy?? Idk, just take them.

"It's been awhile since we last saw each other, hasn't it?" German Empire murmured into the evening air.

"Quite so, though one could say I have never seen you in my life," replied Austria-Hungary, his arm brushing up against Germany's.

Both of them had excused themselves to the gardens; a retreat from the busy and overall noisy environment of the party in order to catch up on the years spent apart. The cool breeze that swept through the meticulously manicured lawns of France's property felt good on Germany's skin.

He chuckled slightly, the unfamiliar and melodic sound ringing through the air.

"I guess you could say that."

They walked on in silence for a minute, before Germany again spoke.

"You have gained some weight since then."

Austro harrumphed. "Well excuse me but some of us don't have the physical capabilities to exercise properly."

"Fancy vocabulary you got there my dear friend," Austria snorted, but Germany continued, "And I never said that was a bad thing."

"Oh really?" He said, a tone of curiosity hinting in his voice.

Germany smiled across at him, though he couldn't see.

"Sure!" He looked away, slightly embarrassed at what he was going to say next, "It makes you much more huggable."

"Pardon?" Austria stopped walking and turned his head to Germany's general direction.

There was an odd warmth now creeping its way onto his face.

"I said it-" He cut off the last part of the sentence and, without so much as a second thought, stepped forward and wrapped his arms around the other. Austro tensed.

"It makes you more huggable... my love," he whispered into the other's ear, feeling his soft hair against his face. There was no response from him though, and the German began worrying he had overstepped his boundaries. These thoughts all but disappeared when he felt a pair of arms slowly clutch onto him and Austria lean further into the embrace.

"I.." a pause, and Germany could feel the smile plastered to his face widen, "I love you too."

"The Earth is littered with the ruins of empires that believed they were eternal, and you. You were one of them."

The quiet voice hovered above him, and although not necessarily fear inducing, It made him feel sick. The pounding in his head combined with the racing of his heart and the seemingly inability to slow his breathing just added to the anxiety of it all.

"You were so sure that you would be the different one; the nation that did stand the test of time, but you were not," It continued, the voice drifted out of the void surrounding him, "Like your father, and your father's father, and your father's father's father, you fell; beaten down by those surrounding you, by those against you, by the world itself."

The figure closed his eyes and sank forward, his forehead now resting against the invisible surface that stretched out for seemingly forever. Was the voice mocking him? Beating him down further than he had been during life?

"No..."

His frail voice was insignificant, and he almost wondered if it had even been uttered, or if it was just another fleeting thought racing through his mind.

Whatever had been speaking to him moments before just laughed, a soft wisp of air drifting around him.

"Leave me be. Please. Please... leave..."

Nothing.

The quiet whispering that had been tormenting him did not respond this time, and surprised, he slowly opened his eyes. The colourless void, the infinite expanses of nothingness were gone, and in its place rested ground. The sudden shock of seeing dirt sent the man bolting upright. Around him, a forest focused in, its tall dark pines and moss covered stones encasing him in an almost comforting barrier. Through long branches of needles, specks of sunlight filtered through, lettering the forest floor with dancing spots of light.

Third Reich slowly pushed himself upwards and looked around, not quite trusting this new world. He drew in a long breath, before calling out.

"Hello?"

The only response was deafening silence.
