No art. Sorry.
I would like to make clear there are flaws in here, 100% sure of it. Im also quite tired, as the name of this particular section might suggest, so yeah. Spelling is flawed. Grammar is too. I dont care. Feel welcome to add on to this. Cheers!
-_-_-_-
So I hear a lot about people hateing a fandom because of personal reasons. I think the most notable instances of this are the Countryhuman, Gatcha, Steven Universe, Yandre Simulator, and MLP. Of course im problably seriously wrong, but those are the ones I have come across the most hate for.
And for good reason.
Something all of them have in common is how they sexualize, undermine serious issues, and make everything gorey, which, ok. Im kind of desensitized to that stuff, so it doesnt nesscarly bother me.
This is, however, not desirable for many other people. The Gachta fandom, for example, gets a mass amount of hate because of that fraction of people who think toxicity is okay. From hating on sexualities, to joking about mental illnesses, and even stooping so low as to thing pedophilia and rape is completely fine, and nothing to hate on. Yes, this is horrible. But that is a small, very minuscule grouping of people. There is nothing wrong with the vast majority of this fandom. Many and most just want to play dress up and create stories for others to enjoy. I see nothing wrong here. But because of the few who decided this is a great place for their putrid fantasies, all of the fandom get a bad reputation.
This is true for literally every fandom,.. period.
Countryhumans has been known for mass amounts of sexual things; glorified porn, normalized rape, incest, kinks of all shapes and sizes, and disgusting representation of the lgbtq community to name a few.
Yandre I think needs no explanation. The creator is toxic, and so is his brainwashed cult he's created.
MLP im not too sure on, given I don't associate with them, but I can only imagine is like countryhumans in a way. Bronies im guessing creeped people out.
Stephen Universe, again not in it, has a bunch of bratty children writing NSFW and screaming at the outsiders for dareing to oppose them.
(Others have it just as bad if not worse but for the sake of my sanity I wont be putting any more in here.)
Now i'll just throw this out here, im ashamed of every community-based interest. Not for being in them, but for ruining the reputation and credibility of every member joined. You certain people have brought the morale standards down for every outsiderçs view on policies.
But much like stated some ways back in this rant of sorts, there are solutions.
The best way of combating despicable behavior in a specific somebody, is to, and I cannot stress this enough, POLITELY, yes politely, tell them what they are doing is not okay. Yelling at someone for doing something wrong, generally only gets them more agitated and less willing to listen to what you are saying. Telling whomever you might be talking to, in a calm manner, brings out the rational thinking brain that can comprehend what is being said at a deeper level.
Second of all, if a group in a fandom is being toxic and they have no intentions of changing, then dont associate with them. There usually are plenty others in your preferred fandom who have more more preference for what you like, and will focus on these less polluted concepts.
You dont like smut. Ok, good on you. No one is judging you for that. Move to oneshots. Are these too cluttered. There are actual consecutive stories with real plots that might appeal to you then.
The third, and the most effective of them all, is,
DON'T. ASSOCIATE. WITH. THE. FANDOM.
If you hate every little thing about the fandom, then don't bother getting involved with it. No person is forcing you to like a topic, and along the same lines, nobody is forcing you to hate something. Leaving a group alone prevents unnecessary drama, conflicts, and stress for every party.
'But what about the toxicity and the bad things?' I hear you saying. Well let me inform you that a good portion of our internet based interest is working to lessen and ultimately end this horrific culture we have unfortunately created. There are people within our groups who help shed light on these situations for others to view.Berating a creator for posting something, will just give them cause to generate more of it out of spite. Spite against you for hating their passions and interests.
Don't do it.
Speak out about the issue, but not in a condescending way towards everyone associated with the interest. You might just find that you have much better and effective results.
All and all, the massage im trying to convay is 'if you dont like something, dont get mad over other people enjoying it. We all have our original opinions and interests.'
You don't see me beating down a fandom for not liking it. I have faith in you to do the same.
Thank you!
- sincerely
