Beautiful.

The first word that Hades, the almighty Lord of the Underworld, thought of to describe the betrayed fairy, who laid on her stomach in the comforts of her new spacious castle. Sure, it wasn't as big or threatening as her old one, but she had the biggest castle on the whole of the Isle of the Lost, so that had to be something to be thankful for. Yet the fairy, who was no other than the Infamous Maleficent, was not thankful for anything, she was mourning. Mourning the proclamation that King Beast had made exiling any magic from the Isle of the Lost. The magic loss though, wasnt just a torture for her, but for everyone else also. You see, for an island of villains that had LIVED with magic, a life without it was a punishment worse than death. Speaking of "death", those who were killed were brought back to life to suffer with the rest. Every day, new villains joined the prison until no one remained free. Although everyone seemed to be accounted for, one malicious fairy still appeared to be missing.
Yep, you guessed it. That fairy was Maleficent.

Word got around about the lack of the most dangerous villain of all. Eventually, an anonymous felon revealed that she had been the first to arrive on the desolate island - as they had been the second - and had seen her once through the upper windows of the largest building in the entire center of the Isle.
Days passed without hearing a word from the Mistress of all Evil. Some attempted to catch a glimpse of her through the window that was previously described. Some could view into the building, but none could see the absent villain.

Another week went by with many villains and henchpeople becoming increasingly worried with each passing second that the fairy was not seen. Yet no one dared to enter her home and suffer her vicious wrath.
Which brings me onto the story.
Rolling his eyes at their cowardlyness, Hades volunteered to check on her.
What could a weak fairy do to an immortal god like him?

The answer?

Just let him catch his breath again, for he had lost it when gazing upon her magnificent beauty.

Now Hades had heard quite a few rumours about the malevolent Maleficent. The goblins say that she transformed into a collosal dragon to fight Sleeping Beauty's Prince. Yet most of the villains gossiped thatg she only cursed Aurora because of lack of an invite to her christening.

None told the god why he thought that she was the most beautiful creature he had ever layed his eyes upon. When he had lived on Olympus, which was quite some time ago, Hades had met many goddesses, even the goddess of beauty, but none of their looks would ever compare to this incredible fairy. Although Hades found himself feeling completely fatuated with Maleficent on a matter of minutes, he couldn't even begin to understand what made him feel so..... starstruck.

Maleficent was laid on her stomach on a makeshift couch in the center of her new living room. She simply wore a pair of black sweatpants and a black tank top. Maleficent was filing her long, black nails, her head tilted to the side slightly. Spilling from her head, other than her tall elegant horns, was thick brown hair, with a tinge of purple. Her majestic mane tumbled now past her shoulder, nearly to her waist.

Hades sighed at the beautiful sight once again.

Maleficent turned her head sharply at the noise and her eyes pierced into his own, daring him to break the eye contact. Never had Hades seen such vibrant green hues as her own.

'What do you want?' Maleficent questioned as she narrowed her eyes at the god that was intruding in her home.

Hades couldn't believe that he felt relaxed at hearing her soft yet menacing voice. Taking a moment to regain his dignity, Hades cleared his throat before speaking. 'The other villains were worried about you. Because nobody has seen or heard from you since you arrived, many assumed that you had died in this castle within a few days of being here.'

The fairy only scoffed at the ridiculous rumour. 'Why the hell, would anybody worry about me?' She snapped back bitterly. 'I am a villain. I don't need to come outside to live. I can keep myself alive easily. I do not, and never will, need the concern and worry of a pathetic human.'

Choosing not to loose it, Hades started to speak up again. 'What's your story then? How did you get stuck on this horrendous excuse of an island?' He questioned, careful not to unerve Maleficent.

'You are to say that you have not heard of me? Nor what I did, who I am?' Maleficent sounded hurt at the insult.

'I know who you are, just not what you've done. You see, babe, I was too busy working on my own wicked plan, as we villains are. So tell me, what is your story?' Hades questioned after taking an opportunity to talk about himself.

'Why would you want to know my story?' Maleficent snarled her nose at his abruptness.

'Well, why not?' Hades attempted to shrug nonchalantly although his palms were sweating.

'I can't trust you. I trusted a human once, and he betrayed me almost immediately.' The mistress of evil determined stubbornly.

'Good thing I'm not a human then. Name's Hades, God of the dead. Hi, how ya doin?' Hades introduced himself and put his hand out for a very confused Maleficent. She shook it gingerly before Hades took his own back and began to talk again. 'If you won't tell me your story, then I'll tell you my story. My brother, Zeus had just recently got married to his wife Hera, and then they had a baby on Mount Olympus. You might know of him, if so then I feel for ya, he was Hercules. The fates then told me that Hercules would defeat me and become all powerful. Well, I wasn't happy with that, so I told my minions Pain and Panic to steal the baby and kill him. But Gods are immortal, so I had to make him mortal first. After that it was really boring, Hercules grew up, married my prisoner, defeated me, yada yada yada. Then boom. I'm here.' Hades smiled as he extravagantly finished his exclamation and sat down beside her on the couch.

Maleficent looked at him with awe and a hint of reciprity before replying. 'And I thought that I had it rough. You've been through a lot, Hades.'

The God's heart skipped a beat when hearing that this magical fairy had spoken his name. 'Your story?' Hades pushed Maleficent, insisting that she revealed her sadness to him. He took a leap of faith, as this might be a chance to get to know her better.

Maleficent raised an eyebrow at him but didn't argue. She held his face for a moment, probably to see if he was being truthful enough for her standards. 'The man that I loved took away my wings so that he could become king, then he remarried and had a daughter, which I cursed, the daughter's Prince tried to defeat me sixteen years later, I turned into a dragon, Diablo was killed, I thought that I had died also, but then I woke up here. My story. 'Maleficent breathed out and shuddered at the memory of her so - called defeat.

'At least I didn't die in my story. But yours sound pretty tragic.' Hades sighed sadly at the thought of the event. It made him realise why Maleficent had exiled herself from the other villains and sidekicks. She wasn't just mourning the loss of magic, she was also mourning the loss of a friend and the loss of comfort.

Although, that wasn't the only reason Maleficent hadn't left her home, whenever she did decide to leave her castle, she would be bombarded with questions from her past, not to mention the fact that she couldn't walk without her cepter or her wings. She would either stumble continuously, or just fall.

'I could help you get around the island. Use me a support instead of your cepter.' Hades offered, taking it as an opportunity to spend more time with Maleficent.

Maleficent only looked amused, yet the tiniest bit flattered. 'Why do I feel like you're using my problems as an excuse to get closer to me?'

'Maybe I am.' He mused with a playful smirk. 'Although I do want to get to know you better, romantically. But I will gladly wait until you trust me enough to go that far.'

For some unusual reason, that comment made the fairy begin to blush rapidly. Although she still tried to keep an emotionless expression when she replied. 'Hope you're willing to stick around then, Hades.'

'Oh I am. I'm a god, so I can stick around forever if need be.' Hades's innocent expression reformed into a smug smirk.

The fairy's heart skipped a beat as Maleficent rolled her eyes stubbornly. 'But since you are a god, you are naturally impatient. You will have moved back to Olympus before I make up my mind, hothead.'

If only she knew....

Hades would be the one to make her love again.
