~Amber's POV~

I spent Sunday packing from dawn til dusk, so Monday was my first day. I walked to school that day, Baroque High, and looked for my locker; M 132. I looked around. The M hall was the music hall, obviously. A teacher and a student were doing a jazz duet as everyone got to their lockers. I checked my schedule. My first class was maths.

Great. I sighed as I jogged to the C hall, which to my luck had most of my classes anyway in that hall. I was late, but the teacher was still inviting and warm. She smiled as I introduced myself. I sat in the back right hand corner, next to a girl who looked absorbed in her book. I glanced at the title and saw the title "Deep and Dark and Dangerous". That's a book by Mary Downing Hahn, my favourite book.

As soon I sat down somebody turned around. A tall boy with long, greasy red hair. "Hey, baby. What's yo sign?" He asked while cocking an eyebrow. The girl next to me looked over at me when I responded with "Stop."

She smiled. "Classic," She turned to the boy. "You set yourself up for that, y'know."

I looked at her. "Nice to meet you, Daria."

Her smile faded. She knew exactly what I meant. "You too, Jane. It's Violet though."

"Amber. We both named after colours or something?"

"Probably. Must be inevitable then." She smirked a sarcastic grin.

I peered around the class. Violet noticed. "I'll tell you whose worth it and who isn't, by the way. That kid over there? Blake," She noticed me staring at him. "I never thought you could turn a lighter colour," She added, and then fell silent. She knew I wasn't listening.

The colour did drain from my face. That boy that I got lost in is in my class? Classic romance story I guess.

~Blake's POV~

I went into the maths class. I spotted Violet first. I waved at her obnoxiously as she gave a sarcastic wink at me. I chuckled and said a hey to people in class before the bell rang. When class started, about half class in, Adam sent me a note. Adam, the kid who pointed that girl out at the skate park. My best friend.

remember that hot chick @ the park? shes a new kid i guess. shes in this class. u see her?

I turned my head to scan the classroom. I didn't see her until she was the very last person I looked at. Her eyes were staring down at a notebook as she took notes, and before I knew it her icy eyes were piercing my black eyes like daggers. We made eye contact for a split second until the teacher said my name during class so I'd look at the board. Her eyes made imprints in my mind. They were eyes I would never forget about.

~Amber's POV~

"So he was staring at you. So?" Violet answered as I mentioned it.

"Exactly. His black eyes were burning into my soul or something. Who is that guy?"

"I met you less than 2 hours ago and I already know who you like. We're going places. Blake...is sort of popular. Great taste in music, but not in girls or friends for that matter. I don't think he's that bad. But whatever floats your boat.

I smiled warmly. Blake. What a cool name.
