"Did Bakugou really say that to Midoriya?" Kirishima asked softly.

"Yeah. Back in middle school. Are you surprised? Bakugou has always treated Midoriya like shit."

Kirishima felt a pang of guilt, he knew Bakugou was always tough on Midoriya but he saw it as him pushing him to do his best. He knew how to look through Bakugou's tough words to understand what he really meant. But it never occurred to him that others might not be able too. He couldn't shake the thought that Midoriya had been struggling so much seeing Bakugou make friends with everyone else while sitting from the sidelines. He was always so happy and friendly to everyone including Bakugou. He felt stupid that he didn't see it sooner. He felt like a really shitty friend.

"Hey Kirishima, don't feel beat yourself up, Midoriya kept all this to himself for a reason. He didn't want anyone to worry or go out of their way for him." Uraraka reassured him.

"But you knew." He hung his head. "He told the both of you how he felt. Why couldn't he tell me too? I thought we were close."

"He didn't tell you because you were probably Bakugou's first actual friend. You broke down the ego Bakugou had to protect himself. You helped him see the value in others. He loved seeing him open up to others, even if it hurt. He didn't want to tarnish the image of your friend."

Kirishima tipped over laying down on the couch feeling defeated. He felt like crap while just looking blankly at the wall thinking about everything he could have said to Bakugou if he would have know.

"I'm sorry Kirishima I didn't mean for things to go like this." Todoroki spoke softly. "This stays between us okay? If Izuku found out I told you guys this, he'd be mad."

"Don't worry I won't tell."

"You know I won't either." Uraraka spoke up. "Well I should probably get going now."

"Yeah I should leave too." Kirishima was still upset.

"Well thank you for coming to my party, keep in touch okay?"

"We will."

Kirishima and Uraraka left the house going their separate ways.

An hour had passed since Midoriya had left Todoroki's house, he stopped to grab ingredients on his way home to make spicy katsudon. The entire way home Midoriya was kicking himself in the ass for agreeing to Bakugou's request to come over and visit with his mom. He wished he had just said no. He took his sweet time getting home to prepare himself mentally for the conversation he was going to have with his mom.

He walked down the street and turned the corner, ingredients in hand, his house had come into view. He groaned with regret. He reached his house and walked in the front door.

"Hey mom I'm home."

"Hey sweetie, how was the party?"

"It was a lot of fun. It was nice seeing everyone again. But, um, Bakugou kinda invited himself over. He'll be here in two hours for lunch. He wanted to see you."

"Oh that's so nice of him to want to come see me, it's been quite a long time. Are you two going to be friends again?"

"I don't know, I told him he really has to try, I don't want some half-assed friendship."

"That's understandable sweetie."

"Well anyway, he still doesn't know I got my memory back sooo, if you don't mind playing along, I hate to ask that of you mom."

"I can do that, but you really should tell him eventually."

"Yeah I know" he sighed. "But it's just easier this way."
