A Vast World of Magic

The ceiling. This was the first thing Ray saw as he woke up. He was inside! Ray got out of his bed, said hello to his mother, who had looked different. "Mom, did you age overni-.. never mind.." Ray said, chuckling. "Ray! you're awake!" His mom yelled, hugging him tightly. "Yeah, I'm gonna go see Natalia, heh" Ray smiled, before running out the building. "Ray, wait!" Ray's mom yelled, but it was too late. "Natalia!" Ray yelled across the town, searching for his friend. A young woman ran up to him, saying "yes?"
"Who are you? I'm looking for Natalia!" Ray said, confused, maybe Natalia was somewhere else, and this person had the same name. "Oh wait, you're Ray, heh!" The young woman chuckled. "Yeah?" Ray said, was he famous for defeating the minotaur?
"It's been forty years since you slayed the minotaur." The woman stated. "W-what? That's funny, did Natalia tell you to play this prank on me?... It is odd that the village built very fast.. This can't be happening.. W-what!?" Ray panicked. He ran around to civilians, asking them how long ago the minotaur was slain. Everyone answered the same. Forty years since Ray and Natalia had saved the village. "You ran off before I could introduce myself. I'm Natalia Rose. Your mom adopted Natalia Clay, and after that, lots of family stuff happened." The young woman said, leaning on a building. "Shouldn't Natalia Clay still be alive..? What happened to her..?" Ray asked, tearing up. "She uh... let's not talk about this. We should go back home." Natalia said, walking back to their house. "So it's true, it's been forty years?" Ray asked his mom. She nodded sadly. "Natalia.... do you like to adventure?" Ray asked, wiping his tears off his face. "Kind of, I like being the hero, doing what's right." Natalia said, nodding her head. "Then follow me!" Ray exclaimed, running out the house. "There's a vast world of magic out there, and it's full of bad people. Do you want to save the world with me, Natalia?" Ray asked Natalia. Silence followed, the two looked each other in the eyes. Ray's eyes filled with determination and hope. Natalia's eyes filled with unsureness and worry.
"Sure. I will save the world with you, Ray" Natalia smiled, the two looked ay each other, happy. The two became adventurers, saving the world from bandits, and dark wizards across the nation. Ray, still being Ray, managed to pick up every newspaper to hear about what they did, and what had happened every day. "Hey, have you ever heard of Yar?" Ray once asked Natalia, ontop of the Silent Tower, a tower created for the worst of criminals, to imprison them for their bad crimes.
"No, not ever." Natalia said, confused and perplexed
"Me and Natalia Clay, were just messing around with dark arts, and we kinda created an evil clone of myself? It sounds silly but.. it's true." Ray said
"Huh, thats odd, never heard of it!"Natalia clay said, astounded by this new information.
Ray steadied himself.
"I feel like I'm going to fall.." Ray said
Ray tripped. Trying not to fall to his death, he had accidentally casted an explosion spell, blowing a wall into the prison.
"RAY!" Natalia screamed
"IT WAS ON ACCIDENT! I SWEAR!" Ray said, trying to explain.
Magic council guards proceeded to surround them from every side, all after Ray.
"Natalia, help me, please!" Ray screamed
"Ray.. You did something bad. You can't redeem that...
You know how I am." Natalia said
"Natalia..." Ray whined, he was going to lose his friend, again.
Ray jumped off, into the distant forest, to only be an outlaw from then on.
