Tim and Jeff are sitting in class when the morning bell goes off and announcements begin. "Todays lunch is pork tenderloin with corn and dinner roll, also please students watch out for flying objects from the giant's side especially for flying balls" the announcements end. The teacher clears his voice "ok class i got news what i originally had planned for today has been changed so we won't be working on book reports, so we are going to the small computer room now as i will give you your assigned computer number as you walk out of the room" . Tim and jeff walk over to the teacher's desk and grab there computer numbers.

Jeff taps Tim's shoulder "that was close i didn't even bother reading that assigned book last night what do you think this is about"?

"I don't know it's probably some stupid program they want to try on us" they reach their computer's and turn them on.

Across the river qwen and Ashley also are heading to the computer lab and sit down and start up their computers. There teacher clears her voice "ok class click on the program for video chat and your pen pal will appear, this person will be your classmate and partner for some assignments ". They do as they are told Ashley screen shows a boy her age with blonde hair and is kind of cute. Qwen on the other hand is not impressed with the guy on her screen that looks like a complete idiot.

"Ok class for the rest of the school year you are interacting with the next across the river" both teachers say at the same time and everyone is in shocked Ashley looks at the guy on her screen.

"Wait a minute so we are interacting with the tiny all boys school " a girl in class asks?

"Yes this program is to help bridge the gap between the two and we decided to join with the school next door for convenience " the girls teacher answers.

Tim is in shock looking at Ashley a really pretty girl that in life she can carry him around in the palm of her hand.

Jeff looks at Tim's screen "uh no fair how come i get stuck with the goth"?

"I can hear you " qwen says annoyed "and besides this isn't pleasant for me either ".

Tim looks at his screen "sorry about that my friend can get a little annoying ".

Ashley gives him a smile "its ok qwen can sometimes be a gloomy cloud around everyone if you don't know her".

The teachers both clear their throats "ok everyone these are your assigned partners the rules are Simple no racist remarks, no sexual behaviour and no there will be no trading partners unless some major issues arise other than that we will allow you to talk and get to know each other ".

Tim looks at Ashley and is getting really nervous "shit what do i say" he says inside his head?

Ashley clears her throat "i guess you didn't think you would be talking to a giant today right" she says trying to break the ice " crap that's a stupid thing to say, now he is going to think i am a idiot " she says inside her head.

"Yeah so are you in any sports or clubs "?

"Well i was part of the swimming team last year but i haven't signed up for this year".

"Oh your lucky we don't even have a swimming team, i am not really into the whole school club crap".

They continue asking basic questions about there life in school and how very little different they are until the bell rings ending the period. Everyone says there goodbyes and turns off there computers and head to the next class.

Tim is walking to science class when jeff walks up to him "so jeff how was chat"?

"Horrible she barely even talked to me and her eyes seemed like they were looking into my soul, uh the girl is creepy, so how was yours "?

"No bad we just talked a little about our schools and i got to admit i was really nervous the whole time and i think she was to".

Across the river Ashley and qwen are heading to math and Ashley is kicking herself in the butt mentally about how there conservation went.

Qwen looks at her "i don't get why you are betting yourself over a little chat with a tiny, the one i had wouldn't shut up so i tuned him out".

"Well mine was ok ,it's just i got so nervous and my stomach knotted up you know i hate talking to strangers especially boys i always get nervous".

"Well lucky us we have to put up with this program for the rest of the year " qwen says in her usual tone.

There day goes by and the final bell of the day goes off and Tim is walking home by the river and looks across and can sees Ashley walking home as well by the river, on the computer screen he couldn't really get a idea how big she is and is now really nervous and scared "no calm down she is over on her side of the river and besides i doubt she would come over here anyway ". He continues walking home until he opens the door and finds his parents are not home "well guess it's what ever i want for dinner " he starts digging in the cupboards and starts pulling out stuff to make spaghetti.

Ashley gets home and sees her mom is working on her computer in the livingroom and decides to go upstairs to work on some homework.
