I've always waited for you

Chapter 6

"Avanna,it's already time for dinner. Get out of the swimming pool already,will you?" Jay calls out for the sixth time,which is quite understandable, considering I had been swimming for 4 hours now.

Partly annoyed by Jay's constant calls and partly tired of swimming continuously,I turn off the music,and wrap a towel around myself.

Which dress should I wear? Should I wear my blue top or blue jeans? The blue top matches with white pants,and the blue jeans match with white top.

Deciding on the blue jeans,I go to the kitchen,where the maids present the food before me.
"Today,we present with a Chinese menu,as you requested. First,we have Shanghai rice for you. Next,we have Diced chicken in black bean sauce. These are your main dishes. Please feel free to ask for anything else. "

"Yeah,thanks. I don't need anything more. You all can go home now."
They bow down to me,and disperse. Jay enters the room,with the dishes he cooked himself. I eagerly lift the lids of the containers as soon as he keeps the dishes on the table.

Hmm. Schezwan rice,Asian style chicken BBQ,chicken nuggets,fried shrimps,cheese platters,french fries,all my style.

After approximately 30 minutes,I let out a rather loud burp and immediately after,a sheepish grin.

"I'll admit that wasn't lady-like,but trust me,when you've already lived for 1000-odd years,you don't even know what good manners are."

Jay shakes his head and continues eating. Right then, Gabriella comes bouncing down the stairs near the kitchen room,which connect it to her bedroom.
"Have you eaten already? I need to go on duty. Also,did you know I was selected as the head fairy today? Also,my supervisor is so handsome! Too bad he already has a wife. Anyway,bye Jay and Avanna. Love you all."
She takes a bite of the food Jay prepared,spits it out,runs at a high speed,and vanishes into thin air.

"Woah. This amazes me every time. And you still haven't told me how she does that. Please,Avanna,spill the secret now. Please?" Jay asks, referring to the act Gabriella put up.

"Ah,fine. This is actually kind of a shortcut into her realm,the realm of fairies. Nor the normal people,nor supernaturals,like me,can do it. So,consider this as her showing off her powers."

"Oh. Wait, that means even you haven't seen the fairy realm?"

"Yes. Even I haven't seen that realm."
"Anyway,I have put out the news about the selling of Fraura. By the way,what I'm curious about is why have you been selling the companies recently?"

"It's a business tactic,child. You won't know anything about it. Sell the companies at a high rate,and when they go under,buy them back at a lower price. This way, we'll get maximum profit."

"Why do you think Fraura will go under? I mean,it has been doing so great! Like,last year,for a few months,it was among the highest earning subsidiary company!"

"Patterns and history,kid. They repeat themselves. Anyway,it's so late now. I gotta go enjoy the moonlight. Go to your own wing and sleep. Tomorrow we also have to figure out other subsidiaries that we can sell without much loss. Goodnight."

"Ok, then. Goodnight. Also,please call me when Gabriella returns. That is,if she returns tonight. Bye bye. See ya tomorrow."

We both go to our rooms. But of course,there's a twist. Since I haven't really visited Jay's wing after it was renovated,I decide to go pay a visit to it.

Jay's wing,a lavishly decorated part of the house,with velvet carpet covered floors,was built by his ancestors. A huge silver coloured chandelier hung from the ceiling,and everywhere glistened with polished marble. From the huge window,the swimming pool is partially visible. The stairs-no,the slide,which curls against a pole,I swear I've never seen such an absurd thing in my 1000-odd years I've lived.

I touch the slide,and it's made of plastic. Won't he get attacked by static though? And where did they find so much of it anyway? Probably recycled it.

"Hey! What are you doing in my wing? Can't I even have some privacy? If you're looking for food,I've prepared the late night as well as midnight snacks. They're in the kitchen."

I tilt my head to see Jay on the second floor. His hands in the pockets of his Mickey mouse onesie outfit,and his hair kept in check by a cat hairband. I roll on the floor laughing.

I had only ever seen him wearing a suit,or black and white t-shirts.

"Yo! Didn't know you had this side to you as well. Oops,shit. I left my phone or I would have taken photos to show Gabriella." I tease him. Well,I can't help if he is extremely easy to tease.

"Don't laugh,okay? I thought I was off duty and changed clothes. I was gonna go star gazing,but I'm not in the mood now. Anyway,what do you want?"

"Your photos in this outfit,of course."
"Shut up. I'm coming down."
"Sure, Mickey mouse."

Jay slides down and due to momentum, almost gets thrown on me.

"Woah there. Careful. I don't want a mouse nibbling at my stomach." And I once again have a huge round of laughter. "I came here to see the new renovated area,but got to see a new side of you instead. Oh,and I won't laugh. What if you eat me? By the way,tell me if you need cheese. I own a part of a cheese producing factory,mad they won't mind giving me a truckload for free."
"Seriously?" Jay rolls his eyes and walks up the stairs,towards his astronomy tower. I follow him,and we reach the highest place in my house.
"This is the newly constructed area,well renovated anyway. I bought some telescopes. They're yet to be opened,but you can observe the stars from the ones that are here already."

"Oh,I don't need to do that. I've seen it all. After all,I have existed here for such a long time that I don't even need to see the sky to tell which star is located where. So, goodbye. I'll go now. See you tomorrow." And I walk out, reminiscing the time when there was no pollution, everywhere was pollution free,and the stars were visible with the naked eye.

Wishing to sleep on the grass like I did in Europe before America was discovered,and before there were buildings,cars,and 'technology' even existed.

So,I did that. I went to the lawn on my balcony,put a bedsheet over it,and sleep,after making a mental note to place a waterproof bed here.
