Nicole looked in the mirror, looking at her small framed body. Her face looked so warn out. She had bags under her eyes, her skin sagged with tiredness. Her hair was so limp and dry. She huffed unsatisfied by what she saw in the mirror. She made her way down stairs. She hated going downstairs it meant she had to sit with all the other unwanted children. She always made sure she sat the furthest away from all children in the home. She didn't belong here. She was loved before the accident. While she sat eating her breakfast another possible foster family came to see how they could deal with the younger children, like everyone who came. Nicole rolled her eyes, knowing exactly how it would go, the couple would have the child for a month then decide fostering was too much of a strain for them, so they would bring the child back, making the child feel even more unloved, and caused them to be very down for a couple of weeks. Then finally when they are fine again and happy, the whole process starts again. Nicole had now finished her breakfast so she went upstairs to her room. In her room she put on her music, she sat on her bed and was remembering all the memories she had with her parents. She remembered all the holidays they had together. How much fun they had. She got off her bed and walked over to a golden box with white edges, she slowly opened the box to reveal pictures of her and her parents. Every time Nicole looked at a new photo she would close her eyes and replay the memory in her head and she would feel as if she was living that moment again. Nicole was only happy when she was remembering the memories she had with her parents. Nicole put away her happy memories, composed herself and got on with her college work. While she was trying to concentrate all she could hear was all the others in this place screaming and shouting. she grabbed her ear phones. She tried desperately to block out the sound but her music just wasn't enough. She had had enough. She opened her door and yelled "Will you just shut up I'm trying very hard to get on with my work and all I can hear is your shrieks and screams" Everyone went silent and sulked off to the living room. Nicole closed her door and got on with her work. When she had finished it was around 7pm and she was hungry her tea would be in the microwave. It's put there when she has work to be done. She made her way down stairs, warmed up her mash, sausage and gravy - her favourite. She didn't realise how hungry she was until she smelt it as it warmed. When it pinged to say it was done she quickly got it out the microwave and ate pretty quickly. She had finished it off in no time! She washed her plate and left it on the draining board to dry. She got herself a drink of water and went back to her room. As soon as her door was closed she showered and changed into her Care Bears pyjamas. Even though Nicole was 17 these were still her nightwear which were worn whenever they were clean. She felt extremely tired after doing her college work without a break, so she brushed her teeth, looked in the mirror to check her complexion to make sure she had no new break outs on her face. Her face was as free from acne as it ever was. She then got into bed and quickly drifted off to sleep.
