I practically ran out of the auditorium. That had to have been the scariest moment of my life. Almost instantly Chloe caught up with me screaming my name like a half crazed maniac. "Where on earth where you? I was so worried!"
I decided not to tell her about my accidental audition for Dorothy. Considering that the judges couldn't even sit through it, I highly doubted that I'd got the part. So it wasn't a problem.
I linked my arm through hers and smiled." It's ok Chloe, I just got a bit lost that's all." She didn't look fully convinced but she let it go.
The results would go up after lunch so we decided to treat ourselves at Starbucks. I got a Caramel latte with a yummy BLT sandwich. Chloe treated herself to a pastry and a hot chocolate. We laughed and talked and generally had a good time. We were the best of friends until the results came up.
Chloe was a nervous wreck as we walked towards the board. "What if I got the part? What if I'm the next Dorothy?" I grinned. "I know you'll be Dorothy." The sea of people parted as we looked at the huge list of people. Chloe's face turned from hope to anger. "You liar!" she spat out at me.
