After two hours we came up with a solid plan. It should definitely work and it's not too hard. I looked at the piece of paper and looked over the plan again.
"So we give it a few days to were Daniel can trust me. I put over the counter sleeping drugs into his water at dinner, then I sneak into his brief case while he's sleeping and take his cellphone out. I then call the police and tell them I've been kidnapped. They come and figure it out. I pretty much make them let me keep you two and my boyfriend Mark will buy us a new house." I smile after reading the plan aloud to Shawn. He nods eagerly.
"Wait why don't you just call your husbands supervisor and tell him you've been kidnaped instead. Then its like your knight in shining armor." Shawn smiles.
"Oh my god! Perfect! Now you have to behave the same! Nothing can be different. Do you have a paper shredder?" I ask. He nods and we walk to Daniels room and walk through another door thats connected to his room to reveal an office. I walk over to the big paper shredder and shred the paper before walk back down stairs. I notice Shawn getting his shoes on.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"Getting Rosie off the bus." He smiles. I quickly throw on a random red female coat.
"You look like her you know." Shawn smiles looking at me.
"Who?" I ask confused.
"My mom. That was her coat." He says sadly. I quickly start to take it off.
"Its fine. Keep it on. She would want you to stay warm." He smiles. I nod and we walk out the door. Shawn helps me get down the stairs and we walk to the corner and wait for the bus.
"You really do look like her. I think thats why Daniels obsessed with you." He says with his smile fading.
"I'm sorry Shawn." I say bringing him in for a hug.
"Not out here." He laughs shoving me lightly. I laugh at his pink cheeks.
"I have school tomorrow." He says happily.
"Do you like school?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm sorta the badboy. I don't have any friends here because every girl is snobby and the guys are players. I may be he badboy but I'm no player." He says.
"Good because if you were a player I'd kick your ass." I chuckle.
All day today me and Shawn have been getting along great. He would be the perfect kid for anyone. He just needs love. I think. I see Rosie's bus pull up and she runs off the bus and right to me. I pick her up and smile.
"How was your day princess?" I ask.
"Good! I told everyone about my new mommy and how pretty you are! My friend Blake said his older brother had a friend that was as pretty as you!" She squeals.
"Who's Blake's brother?" I ask. I somewhat remember meeting a kid Blake. I think it was Jakes little brother.
"Jake! He's awesome! So is his girlfriend Jessica! Today they picked up Blake from school but they didn't seem happy anymore." She says with a sad tone.
"Are they usually happy?" I ask curiously.
"They smiled and stuff when they see Blake, but they didn't today. They told him they were having a really hard day. Then I went and got on the bus." She smiles before jumping out of my arms and into Shawn's. We slowly walk back to the house. I hang up Rosie's coat and untie her sneakers for her. I look at the clock. 4. I should start dinner. I walk into the kitchen, looking through the cupboards before settling for meatball subs.
In the middle of cooking Rosie came skipping in.
"Mommy can we get a dog?" She asks.
"I don't know, who would feed it, wash it, and pick up its number two?" I ask.
"I'll do the two. And I'll help her wash it." Shawn says from the doorway.
"Well who will feed it then?" I ask bending down and smiling at Rosie.
"I can I can!!!" She cheers excitedly.
"Okay let me talk with your father at dinner." I say finishing up the meatballs.
"Can I set the table?" She asks.
"Shawn will you help her?" I ask him. He nods and helps Rosie set the table while I take out a pot holder and put it on the table to hold to pot of sauce and meatballs. I then walk over to the break container and pull out the subs before walking over to the table.
"Shawn will you do the drinks?" I ask. He nods and I check the time. 5. Damn time passed quickly. I heard the front door open and I had the kids sit down.
"It smells good in here! Whats for dinner." Daniel calls from the living room.
"Meatball subs daddy! I even helped set the table!" Rosie yells from her seat.
"Did you?" He asks walking into the kitchen. She nods and he kisses the top of her head.
"Well dig in. He says sitting down. I help Rosie get hers while Shawn and Daniel serve themselves. She smiles when I set her plate back in front of her.
"So Daniel. The kids came to me today with a great idea." I say smiling. He looks up smiling. He gestures for me to go on.
"They think we should get a dog. I think that would be a great idea! Shows them more responsibility and how to care for someone else but themselves." I say picking at my food.
"I think thats a great idea, a family dog. Why not go get one after dinner?" He asks happily. I smile and nod and Rosie cheers. I see Shawn smile.
"Shawn, it's okay to be excited about getting a dog hunny. I am to. I also bet your father is happy to get a dog to. Right hunny." I said looking to Daniel.
"Yeah of course. Show your emotions Shawn." He says gently. Shawn looks up shocked and Daniel offers him a true smile. Shawn smiles and cheers along with Rosie.
"Wait guys! We have to think of names!" I smile laughing.
"What about Duke?" Shawn asks.
"Or Reilly!" Rosie's exclaims. I smiles at their happiness. I look over to Daniel to see him staring at me smiling. I send him a smile before continuing to eat my food. As I finish up I take all the dirty plates to the sink and wash them before putting them in the dish rack. I feel arms snake around me pulling me into a hard chest.
"Your so good with kids." He whispers.
"I try my best." I mutter out. He was way to close for my liking.
"Get your coat on your coming." He smiles pulling away.
"Uh what if people see me?" I ask awkwardly.
"We're going to an animal shelter. I don't think we'll see anyone." He says handing me the red coat. I slip it on and he helps me out to the car where Rosie and Shawn were already waiting.
